About the Role:
Client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Support Engineer with expert knowledge of SONiC (Software for Open Networking in the Cloud) and extensive experience in network architectures and protocols used in enterprise data centers, large web-scale content providers, and cloud hosting networks. The ideal candidate will also have an understanding of AI infrastructure networks, including RDMA, and SW infrastructure components such as SAI, BSP, and SDK. This is a highly collaborative role providing escalation and triage support to engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert-level triage and escalation support to frontline TAC engineers.
- Troubleshoot complex issues not only at the device level but across a distributed network, including SONiC, Cisco Nexus, and Cisco IOS-XR.
- Replicate customer issues in the lab, working diligently to identify root causes and resolution of issues independently and engaging Cisco engineering teams when needed.
- Sharing lessons learned in the form of knowledge base documentation, chalk talks, and trainings.
- Act as a subject matter expert on SONiC and related network architectures and protocols.
- Develop and deliver advanced technical training for TAC engineers.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to resolve intricate technical issues.
Networking Protocols Expertise:
- Extensive knowledge of common networking protocols such as BGP, OSPF, ISIS, EVPN, VXLAN, MPLS, and Segment Routing.
- Experience with AI-specific protocols, including RDMA.
- Proficiency in protocols and technologies used in enterprise data centers and cloud environments.
- Proficiency in Linux and containerization technologies, specifically Docker.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field (MS preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of working knowledge with SONiC in production environments.
- Minimum of 10 years working in the computer networking field.
- Proven ability to act as a Level 3 support engineer.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed networks and various Network Operating Systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of AI infrastructure networks and related protocols, including RDMA.
- Expertise in SW infrastructure components such as SAI, BSP, and SDK.
- Prior experience in large web-scale content providers or cloud hosting networks.
