As a People & Organization Business Partner for the Americas, you will be responsible for providing true partnership, trusted advice, support and facilitation to managers and employees across a generalist spectrum of human resources disciplines. This role has dual responsibility for providing strategic people support and local operational support with frontline HR matters.

Job Description

Primary Job Functions:

  • Develop and maintain in-depth understanding of your allocated business areas; their business objectives, challenges, risks and people related topics
  • Collaborate with your people leaders on various HR matters to provide timely, consistent, and effective advice, coaching, and support.
  • Support all people processes; this includes performance management, talent acquisition, onboarding, employee engagement, compensation and benefits, employment changes, immigration support, payroll, development planning and training.
  • Enable a positive, proactive approach to our People and their experience with TOMRA.
  • Determine how the P&O function can support the business in being successful with an eye to the medium and long-term future.
  • Problem solve and recommend solutions leveraging your experience, insights and access to knowledge to support your business areas
  • Work closely with your business area managers and other team members to continually analyze, prioritize, and respond to the businesses people and capability needs to assist in the delivery of business outcomes
  • Participate in business planning processes for relevant divisions or teams where required
  • Provide general advice and support directly to local employees on HR topics e.g., managing leaves of absence, interpretation of policy, navigation of benefits and general queries and actions requests
  • Carry out People & Organization plans, strategies, and initiatives ensuring long term, sustainable solutions focus is taken to all HR matters and under the guidance of leadership
  • Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to internal and external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment, payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

Payroll

  • Manage full-cycle in-house United States /Canada/Mexico payroll on a bi-weekly basis for exempt and non-exempt employees.
  • Ensure all payroll-related transactions are processed and accurate; this includes but is not limited to salaries, benefits, holidays, schedules, garnishments, taxes, W-2s and other deductions

Global Focus

  • Take responsibility for leading or supporting People & Organization projects to contribute to the development of global programs, templates, tools, and frameworks.
  • As a member of the Recycling P&O Leadership team, you will partner with international People & Organization team members to ensure alignment of P&O strategy while ensuring there is Americas representation.

People Management & Communication 

  • Support managers in performance, career and succession plans.
  • Develops productive relationships and maintain an atmosphere of trust.  
  • Effectively communicates using TOMRA Values and leadership principles as the foundation.  
  • Fosters an environment of teamwork and collaboration.  
  • Promotes a culture of feedback to ensure understanding.

Qualifications

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in progressive HR roles
  • HR Business Partnering or Advisory experience preferred
  • Experience in designing and delivering HR operational processes
  • Excellent knowledge of local employment legislation
  • Strong demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence at different levels across the business
  • Strong influencing skills, capable of driving mutually beneficial outcomes that align with business goals

 

Physical Requirement

  • Ability to sit at desk for long periods of time.  
  • Kneel, bend, and stand as necessary.   
  • Ability to lift 5-10 lbs. 

Travel

  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid passport
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally

Driving

  • Ability to drive without restrictions.

Pay Band

For U.S. applicants, in accordance with applicable disclosure requirements, the anticipated annual base pay range for the Sales Manager position is $82,000 - $92,000. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. As with certain positions in the organization, this role is eligible for additional forms of compensation.
