Toposophy is a leading agency specializing in place branding, tourism strategy, urban development, sustainability, and cultural innovation. We work with destinations, cities, and businesses to shape industries, influence policies, and drive meaningful change.

We are looking for a talented Associate Copywriter to join our team in Athens, reporting to the Senior Content & Brand Strategist – Destination & Place Marketing. In this role, you will help craft compelling content that elevates destinations, drives engagement, and supports TOPOSOPHY's work in tourism, events, and place marketing.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, creative role for a copywriter who can produce engaging, well-structured content across multiple platforms. You will write for a range of audiences—from tourism boards and urban planners to event organizers and policymakers—ensuring that our storytelling reflects the identity, culture, and vision of places and experiences.

This role is ideal for a versatile writer with a passion for travel, cities, and storytelling. You will be responsible for developing content across web, social media, reports, event marketing, and brand messaging—helping to shape how places communicate with the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Creation & Copywriting – Write and edit clear, engaging content for destination marketing, urban development, cultural projects, and major events.
  • Multi-Channel Content Execution – Develop copy for websites, articles, blogs, reports, case studies, presentations, social media, and advertising campaigns.
  • Event & Campaign Support – Write marketing materials for Dine Athens Restaurant Week, Taste of Athens, Stay in Athens Hotel Week, and other Toposophy-led initiatives.
  • Social Media & Digital Content – Assist in crafting engaging social posts, captions, and messaging for LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and industry platforms.
  • SEO & Performance-Optimized Writing – Apply SEO best practices to improve search visibility and engagement for digital content.
  • Research & Storytelling Development – Support the Senior Content & Brand Strategist in developing narratives for place branding, destination campaigns, and urban strategy reports.
  • Editorial & Content Calendar Support – Assist in maintaining an organized workflow for content production, ensuring alignment with campaign schedules.
  • Brand Voice & Messaging Consistency – Ensure that all copy aligns with Toposophy’s tone of voice and the distinct identities of client destinations and projects.

You’re a Fit If You…

  • Are a strong, adaptable writer with experience in copywriting, editorial, or content marketing.
  • Have a passion for storytelling, destinations, tourism, events, experiences and city branding.
  • Can write for different formats and tones, from professional reports to social media posts and event promotions.
  • Are detail-oriented and able to manage multiple content projects simultaneously.
  • Understand or have an interest in SEO, audience engagement strategies, and performance-driven content.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, creative environment with designers, marketers, and strategy teams.
  • Have a growth mindset and are eager to learn from experienced content and marketing professionals.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in copywriting, content creation, or editorial writing.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with a portfolio of published work.
  • Experience in destination marketing, travel writing, event marketing, or urban development is a plus.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and digital content optimization.
  • Ability to adapt writing style to different audiences and platforms.
  • Proficiency in Greek | English
