Production Assistant

Summary 

TopstepTV is one of the most watched live futures day trading shows on YouTube, featuring home grown traders and industry experts, with over 1M views per month, and 45K views per day. The Production Assistant will play a key role in producing and managing segments of our live day show, either operating behind the controls or directing segments. Our day show is live from 7:20 AM-3:00 PM CT, and we have two different shifts to accommodate pre and post show preparation. We’re looking for individuals for both shifts (6:00 AM - 3:00 PM CT; 7:00 AM - 4 PM CT). Individuals will support the production team in executing a high-quality broadcast and improving the overall viewer experience. The ideal candidate has experience in a TV studio or has managed a YouTube live stream in the past.

Key Responsibilities 

• Running Live Streaming Software: When you’re “behind the box,” you’re the director. We use vMix, but experience with any live streaming software is a plus.
  
  
• Producing Segments: Act as the segment producer, ensuring smooth execution of specific show segments.
  
  
• Assisting With Show Content: Help create engaging content for the show, including educational pieces, news, gags, stunts, and other compelling segments.
  
  
• AV Tech Support: Provide support with AV hardware, including microphones, cameras, and interfaces, as well as troubleshoot live streaming with remote connections, as well as assisting with tech dress rehearsals with guests.
  
  
• Experimenting With Technical Improvements: Continuously test new tools and workflows, in coordination with the Sr. Manager of Production, to enhance production efficiency and broadcast quality.

Required Qualifications and Key Competencies

• 1-4 years of experience in television production or live streaming. Recent graduates in film, television & live streaming production will be considered.
  
  
• Deep knowledge and experience running streaming software like vMix, Wirecast or something similar.
  
  
• AV Hardware/General Tech Knowledge: Familiarity with webcams, PTZ cameras, lighting setups, microphones, and voice processors.
  
  
• GT Title Designer or Adobe After Effects: Experience creating animated graphics for live broadcasts.
  
  
• Thrives in high-pressure live environments, where troubleshooting and problem-solving is expected in real time. We’re looking for resourceful, action-oriented individuals.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Interest in Futures Trading or Finance: A basic understanding of trading helps in creating relevant content, but prior knowledge is not required.

New Hire Base Salary Range:

• $55,000-$65,000
• Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.
• The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
