We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Product Development: Softlines to lead our product development softlines division. This role will oversee the end-to-end development process for our softline products, including the exploration of bags, apparel, lunch boxes, and more. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product development, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for innovation and quality.

• Support the company’s growth strategy by bringing new and exciting products to market.
• Lead the product development process from concept to launch for all softline products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, marketing, sales and supply chain to ensure product alignment with company strategy.
• Manage and mentor factory partners and/or a team of product developers, providing guidance and support to achieve project goals.
• Conduct market research and trend analysis to inform product development decisions.
• Oversee the creation of product specifications, prototypes, and samples.
• Ensure all products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and manage the product development budget.
• Identify and mitigate risks throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

We seek team members who are adept at contributing their personal expertise to a collaborative work environment. For this role, we’re looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Product Development, Fashion Design, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in product development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of successfully bringing products to market.
• Strong understanding of the softlines industry and product lifecycle.
• Experience directly managing factories and suppliers of softline products. 
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in product development software and tools.
• Knowledge of global market trends and consumer behavior.
