Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

TRUEWERK is looking for an exceptional Lead Designer based in Denver, Colorado to combine their experience, problem solving abilities, and cultural relevance to help build and support the future of technical workwear. 

Our ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and visual communication skills and is adept at presenting and defending creative work while remaining open, flexible, and collaborative. You have a highly developed curiosity and in-depth understanding of design culture, and are committed to staying up-to-date with current and future trends. With your strong interpersonal skills and dedication to foster cross-functional teamwork, you have the ability to collaborate on team efforts while also working independently to deliver on individual responsibilities.

Most importantly, successful candidates will have a passion for creativity and exceptional abilities in design and typography. We love portfolios with strong, brand-appropriate aesthetics that align with the target audience’s needs and lifestyle. We expect your portfolio to showcase your level of taste and experience with a clean, visually engaging, and clear information hierarchy. Bonus points for descriptions of your projects, explaining your thinking process or the problem you solved.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

You will focus on the consumer facing Brand experience of product, communication, digital, retail, and collateral materials by:

  • Crafting all aspects of the look and feel of brand experiences for consumer touch points in partnership with Brand Marketing and functional teams across the organization. 
  • Developing concepts with original designs or direction and continuing to evolve design systems.
  • Creating mood boards to develop the next generation of visual solutions for 2D and 3D execution for consumer experiences (branding, campaign, retail, digital, social, etc.). 
  • Delivering coordinated design solutions across all appropriate channels. 
  • Working as a thought partner and collaborator with our Creative Director and design team on company-wide initiatives and campaigns. 

Qualifications

 

  • 5-7 years graphic design and art direction experience in branded content, agency, editorial or marketing environments.
  • Must have: Demonstrated success with a well-known brand or with an established agency with name-brand clients
  • Ideal previous titles: Senior Designer, Art Director
  • Preferred: A background in athletics, sports, or outdoor brands and a passion for disrupting the workwear or apparel industry.
  • Preferred: Experience working in a startup environment with a proven ability to flex and adapt to changing business needs while maintaining creative quality.
  • Exceptional portfolio of creative work, highlighting a seasoned background in digital and editorial design.
  • Great knowledge and expertise in all aspects of layout, typography, illustration, identity, digital production and publishing across editorial formats and platforms.
  • Thorough understanding of today’s media landscape, with in-depth knowledge of interactive communication, consumer engagement, processes and user-interface design for digital products.
  • Expert understanding of FIGMA and Adobe Suite.

Salary Range: $110,000 –140,000
