Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the Quality Assurance (QA) team ensuring compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards. This role focuses on managing the quality system, driving continuous improvement, overseeing quality inspections, and ensuring that all products and processes meet customer and regulatory requirements. The Quality Assurance Supervisor will also provide leadership to the QA team and collaborate with cross-functional departments to maintain high-quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure Compliance with Standards:
- Stay updated on regulatory and industry requirements, ensuring that all procedures and processes meet the latest certification standards and any specific customer requirements.
- Prepare and maintain documentation necessary for certifications and audits, ensuring full compliance with regulatory bodies.
Conduct Process Audits:
- Plan, schedule, and execute internal audits to assess the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS) and process controls.
- Assist external audits (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001 certification audits), ensuring the organization’s compliance with applicable standards.
- Analyze audit results, identifying areas for improvement and working closely with departments to implement corrective and preventive actions.
Drive Continuous Improvement:
- Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives by implementing methodologies like Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Total Quality Management (TQM).
- Analyze data from inspections, audits, and quality metrics to identify trends, root causes of defects, and opportunities for process improvements.
- Lead cross-functional teams in Kaizen or other improvement events to reduce scrap, rework, and inefficiencies.
Manage Non-Conformance:
- Oversee the identification, documentation, and resolution of non-conforming products, processes, and services.
- Conduct root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, or Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to determine the underlying cause of quality issues.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence of defects or process deviations, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Maintain records of non-conformance reports (NCRs), ensuring proper documentation for tracking and improvement purposes.
Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA):
- Collaborate with procurement and supplier management teams to evaluate and monitor supplier performance, ensuring raw materials and components meet quality requirements.
- Conduct supplier audits and implement supplier corrective actions to address any quality concerns.
- Work with suppliers to implement process improvements or corrective actions to ensure consistency in the supply chain.
Training and Development:
- Develop and conduct training programs for QA staff and other departments on quality control processes, standards, and procedures.
- Stay current with industry trends and quality control best practices, integrating them into training and development programs for continuous learning.
- Mentor QA personnel to foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement, helping team members enhance their skills in problem-solving, auditing, and inspection techniques.
Documentation and Data Reporting:
- Ensure that all quality records, inspection reports, audit findings, and corrective actions are documented and stored in accordance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 requirements.
- Analyze and report on key quality performance indicators (KPIs) such as first-pass yield, scrap rate, defect rate, and customer returns.
- Create and present regular quality reports to senior management, highlighting trends, improvement opportunities, and progress on corrective actions.
- Responsible for reviewing product documentation, ensuring that all inspections and test meet customer and regulatory requirements, and issuing the Certification of Conformance (CoC).
Customer Quality Interface:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers on quality-related issues, providing timely updates and resolutions to quality concerns.
- Investigate customer complaints and initiate corrective actions to address product quality issues, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to ensure customer-specific quality requirements are met throughout the production process.
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead, motivate, and support the QA team, fostering a culture of accountability, attention to detail, and quality excellence.
- Set performance goals for the team and monitor progress toward achieving departmental objectives.
- Ensure proper staffing, training, and development within the QA department to meet business demands and quality objectives.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the daily operations of the QA team, setting priorities, assigning tasks, and ensuring timely completion of inspections, tests, and audits.
- Monitor team performance, providing regular feedback and performance evaluations to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality-related issues during the manufacturing process.
Position Requirements
- Familiarity with quality management software and tools (e.g., SPC, FMEA, 8D).
- Certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) are a plus
Physical Requirements

- Dexterity of hands, fingers, and wrist to operate a computer keyboard, calculator or assemble/manufacture intricate items.

Pay/Salary Information
Pay scale for this position - $85,529.60 - $95,000.00 Annual Salary
