Working under the direction of the UHN Clinical Research Collaborative Centre Operations Management team and the Toronto General Hospital Clinical Research Unit (TGH CRU) Medical Lead, the Clinical Research Manager brings expertise in program management and development, building and managing teams, implementing operations, and overseeing and planning the operational budgets. The candidate will have experience ensuring procedures are in place for the appropriate delegation of tasks (quality management), and has experience applying high level consultative and negotiation skills to interact effectively and efficiently with investigators regarding protocols, budgets, staffing and liaising with funding agencies. They will be skilled in identifying and developing clinical and administrative tools for TGH’s clinical research community as well as standards, guidelines, process and procedures in accordance with UHN policies. In addition, the incumbent will participate in project design, development and maintenance to ensure that deliverables keep on track and meet deadlines. The candidate should be skillful in identifying problems using assessment skills, and be solution oriented.
The incumbent will be responsible for planning, developing and coordinating all aspects of multiple projects including monitoring deliverables, working with the TGH CRU Medical Lead to understand project goals, site challenges and priorities to address, socialize and manage multi-year strategy at the site, liaise with collaborative internal counterparts (Clinical Research Executive, other site CRUs, and UHN Clinical Research Managers) and stakeholders and collaborate with key appointees in each business unit to consolidate feedback, strategic direction, and ensure unified execution.
