Job Description

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

At New Zealand's largest and leading Faculty of Science, situated in the heart of Auckland City, we offer a range of programmes to more than 8,000 students.

An opportunity exists in our Communications and Marketing team for a self-motivated Content Writer and Coordinator to play a crucial role promoting our study opportunities, academic research, events and achievements. 

We're looking for an individual with a passion for communication, who can combine technical skills with exceptional written English.

Core responsibilities for the role include:

  • Writing, editing and coordinating the production of high-quality print and digital content.  
  • Writing and publishing user-centric web content via our content management system, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). 
  • Providing subject matter expertise to influence content decisions.
  • Creating content beyond the website, including marketing automation, social media, and other digital channels—each requiring a unique approach.
  • Understanding the technology and data side of marketing and communications, including analysing and reporting on content performance (e.g. engagement rates) to inform strategy and improve impact.

This is a fulltime (37.5 hour s per week), permanent role.

The salary is between $67,000 - $77,800 per annum, depending on skills and experience

The ideal candidates will have:

  • A bachelor's degree with strong writing experience.
  • Experience working with web content management systems.
  • Experience with web analytics tools and SEO.
  • Experience working with high-performing teams and complex environments.

Mō tō mātou rōpū | About the team

Ours is a really stimulating, supportive environment.  The work we do is interesting, exciting, and impactful.  We are made up of three content writers and coordinators, a marketing adviser and marketing coordinator.  This role will also work closely with our events coordinator.
