Fund Finance Advisory - Senior Opportunity

Fund Finance Advisory (FFA) operates alongside the broader Risk Advisory team to support global clients in assessing, establishing and managing a wide range of solutions for their financing needs at fund, GP and ManCo level.

The role encompasses origination, structuring and deal execution.

Responsibilities:

• As a key differentiator, Validus has a strong sense of common purpose: an integral part of the role is assisting colleagues in revenue generating initiatives by working closely with the Risk Advisory and Client Coverage teams to contribute FFA product expertise;
• Lead the origination and execution of fund finance transactions as the Deal leader within the Fund Finance team;
• Acting as the main point of contact on deal structuring, execution and project management of transactions;
• Providing support to clients on documentation negotiation;
• Maintain and develop sponsor and client relationships at a senior level, alongside the Business Development and Client Coverage Team, delivering the whole Validus proposition and identifying wider opportunities beyond the core fund finance advisory;
• Drive product innovation and thought leadership;
• Mentoring team members and developing product expertise and technical skills;
• Maintain knowledge of the fund finance industry and products to the highest professional levels; and
• Supporting the team in further developing processes and efficiency tools.

Experience/ Skills/ Attributes Required:

• At least 10 years’ experience with at least 5 in the Fund Finance industry
• Established network within the financial sponsor and fund finance sector;
• Proven track record in originating and executing fund & GP financing transactions;
• Experience in structuring, negotiating and leading transactions, in a lender or advisory capacity, including experience in negotiating loan documentation;
• Client facing and relationship management experience in sponsor coverage;
• Technical understanding of complex structures;
• Having a strategic outlook with attention to detail while being able to consider the broader big picture;
• Teamwork and mentoring experience; and
• Drive to succeed while being a strong team player.

In addition, any of the following would be a plus:

• Legal background/experience;
• Proficiency in a second European language;
• Exposure to hedging tools and products; and
• CFA or CAIA certification.
