Summary:

Vaxcyte’s Summer Internship program offers students with an opportunity to gain valuable work experience that complements their college curriculum with relevant hands-on work that can shape their future career pathing and interests. 

As a Procurement Intern for Vaxcyte, you will work on a project as outlined below:

- Provide support for purchase requisitions including follow up with key stakeholders, gathering documentation and resolving exception items.

- Support the current purchase requisition and contracts process to review expired contracts and make current if needed.

- Open purchase order support, closing out aged purchase orders and processing change orders.

- Research and benchmarking of tools and corporate purchasing policies to provide insights into best practices and automation tools.

- Assist with updating training slides, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and other Procurement documentation.

The Intern will learn and practice:

- Navigating a corporate finance department in a public company setting.

- Gain knowledge of day-to-day purchase management supporting real world research projects.

- Practice communication and engagement with external and internal stakeholders. 

- Learn standard troubleshooting financial reconciliation to align with approved spend.

- Gain knowledge of how to apply Corporate Finance concepts within the Life Science industry. 

• The Internship will begin in June or July and will be around 10 weeks (8 hours per day) in duration at our San Carlos, California location. 

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree (enrolled student with at least 1 year at university completed) with a focus on Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office. 
• Strong attention to detail and work quality.
• Demonstrates collaboration and teamwork.  
• Enthusiastic-Shows curiosity and is eager to learn.
• Dedicated.

Reports to: Associate Director, Procurement

Location: San Carlos, CA

Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is $23-$26 per hour for undergraduate students. Actual pay will be determined based on year of university/college completed. The Summer Internship position will not be eligible for benefits. Relocation and housing stipend will not be offered.
