Senior Analyst, Middle Office

Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s two Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global’s modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.

We are seeking a Senior Analyst, Middle Office, to join our Middle Office team. This position will report to the Senior Manager, Middle Office and will be located in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities:

• Be responsible for end of day procedures including, reviewing daily reports, daily trades, analyzing day over day changes to provide explanations to customers and resolving any discrepancies.
• Generate month end and settlement accounting entries from the ETRM for LNG, NG, and financial commodity transactions, while ensuring accuracy, and provide monthly analysis of activities for Sr Manager review.
• Reconcile and process settlements for Commodity Transactions within the ETRM or other commercial systems working with Commercial Ops, NG/LNG Front Office, Schedulers, Middle Office, and Suppliers/Customers
• Send invoices to Counterparties for settlement
• Coordinate with Treasury on processing and receiving payments and ensuring ETRM is updated for credit purposes.
• Coordinate with Accounting to maintain GL Mapping Matrix in the ETRM for month end accruals and settlement accounting
• Work with Gas Supply on new transport, locations to be set up in the ETRM for transacting. 
• Ensure transactions are appropriately captured per the confirmation and for mark-to-market accounting.
• Analyze price and volume exposure on our commodity activities for management reporting
• Analyze and report on financial hedges relative to physical positions to identify profit and loss impact
• Ensure accuracy of data and ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the data set in the ETRM.
• Provide feedback on system enhancements to provide efficiencies in daily tasks
• Ability to take on new projects in our commodity business and work cross functionally to build out the process and system requirements. 
• Ability to gather and organize data from systems and create custom structured reports in excel as needed for business requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in accounting or business administration
• 5+ years experience in a natural gas or energy company, preferably in a Middle Office, Risk or Gas Accounting role
• Hands on experience with a commodity ETRM system, preferably FIS Aligne
• Strong understanding of Natural Gas transaction flow and transportation costs
• Strong understanding of mark-to-market, management profit and loss reporting, and exposure reporting
• Self-starter with ability to track tasks and follow up with team on status and roadblocks
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong excel knowledge
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Self-motivated to investigate problems and summarize for managers/management
• Experience with BI or Tableau reporting, particularly building out reports for natural gas activities
