The Team You’ll Join: The Research Operations team is a newly established function that will serve as the central hub for executing, standardizing, and optimizing research processes at Veris Insights. This team is responsible for ensuring the integrity and efficiency of the data that fuels our research division, from survey programming to data collection, cleaning, analyzing, and creating reports.


As Research Operations Project Manager, you’ll build this function from the ground up—setting its vision, defining best practices, and driving operational excellence. You’ll ensure research quality and consistency while partnering with other teams to improve processes and data integrity.


Beyond team operations, this role will also play a key part in shaping the development of early-career research professionals at Veris Insights. As the team structure matures, you’ll take ownership of designing a program that provides structured training and mentorship for entry-level researchers.

With strong performance, this role provides a clear path to Senior Project Manager, where you will take on greater strategic ownership—including designing a structured training curriculum, creating a scalable mentorship framework, and equipping early-career researchers with the foundational skills needed for long-term success through a new Entry Talent Research Program.

Key Responsibilities: People Management & Mentorship
  • Manage and develop a team of analysts and associates, providing ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Foster a structured, high-performance team environment where best practices are consistently followed across all research projects.
  • Track team workloads, adjust assignments as needed, and ensure balance across the team.
  • Mentor early-career researchers, ensuring they develop strong foundational skills and align with their teams.


Key Responsibilities: Research Operations & Data Quality Assurance
  • Establish, refine, and oversee survey programming, data collection, and data cleaning processes to ensure high-quality research execution.
  • Act as the go-to resource for associates, troubleshooting survey programming, data management, and dashboard issues.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of survey data, analysis outputs, and dashboards to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Monitor and optimize research workflows, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and in alignment with internal standards.


Key Responsibilities: Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Identify opportunities to improve survey administration, data processing, and workflow automation to increase efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain best practices for research operations, ensuring consistency across teams.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Research Operations and other research functions, collaborating with stakeholders to support research goals and optimize workflows.


The Requirements:
  • 3+ years of leadership or people management experience, with a passion for coaching and developing early career talent.
  • 4+ years of experience as a mixed-methods researcher, with demonstrated career progression and expanded responsibilities.
  • Experience with research tools like Qualtrics (or similar), statistical software, and data visualization platforms.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentation.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across teams and effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity and research quality.
  • Process-oriented, proactive in creating structured workflows and driving efficiency.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and building a function from the ground up.


The Nice-to-Haves:
  • Experience in market research, consulting, talent acquisition, university/early career recruiting, HR, or human capital consulting.


The Compensation & Benefits Package:
  • Annual salary: $80,000-92,500 based on experience
  • Fully remote (or hybrid opportunity if you live in the DC area!)
