Engineering Intern - Corp IT

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Engineering intern to join our Corporate IT team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain software tools and solutions to optimize IT processes, streamline workflows, and enhance overall efficiency. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify pain points, propose solutions, and deliver high-quality tools tailored to the needs of the organization.

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must be available for the full duration of our internship program, running from June 16th to September 18th. This is an in-person internship based at our Irvine, CA office, with an on-site schedule Monday through Thursday and the option to work from home on Fridays. Standard working hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (PST).

• Develop and Maintain Tools: Design, develop, and implement software tools to automate and improve internal IT workflows, processes, and systems.
• Analyze and Identify Needs: Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to understand requirements and identify inefficiencies or gaps in existing tools.
• Integrate Systems: Develop integrations between existing IT tools, enterprise applications, and platforms (e.g., Jira, AWS, GCP)
• Automation: Leverage scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation frameworks to build scalable and reusable automation workflows.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor and improve the performance of existing tools, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
• Documentation and Support: Create technical documentation, provide training to end-users, and offer ongoing support for developed tools.
• Collaboration: Work closely with IT administrators, software engineers, and other corporate departments to drive efficiency through custom solutions.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Go or PHP.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell).
• Good understanding of APIs and experience working with RESTful services.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions
• Hands-on experience with IT tools like Jira or Confluence.
• Experience in integrating and customizing enterprise systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues in complex systems.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of database technologies (SQL/NoSQL).
• Understanding of ITIL best practices and frameworks.
• Experience with UI designs and using languages such as PHP
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
