This role provides support to the General Counsel and LEC leadership team to enable the efficient management and running of the division with a focus on coordination of overall team strategy (including relevant OKRs), supporting preparation for quarterly business reviews and coordinating key initiatives as well as the annual planning/YE processes. This role will also focus on driving leadership and team engagement and requires effective internal and external stakeholder engagement, whilst working in close partnership with LEC leadership team, Global business planning stakeholders and colleagues in LEC team as well as the broader Visa business (including global, regional teams, Finance and People BPs).
This role will be key in ensuring that the function is able to deliver on its priorities and targets, including OKRs.
Additionally, this role will work with the sourcing legal team to handle queries, negotiate contracts and facilitate the end to end sourcing legal process in support of continuous improvement and increased efficiency, allowing the team to focus on high complexity, high criticality matters - also taking the learnings from improvements to sourcing processes and applying these as appropriate more broadly to the work of the LEC teams in support of LEC’s strategy of continuous improvement, increasing efficiency and reducing time spent on lower value tasks.
The role holder will need to be highly organised (documentation), a willing learner (new tools/ platforms, AI etc.), and comfortable navigating challenging forces (political, disruption etc.) in a fast-paced environment with significant change. Adaptability and agility are key requirements, as our team must respond quickly to business needs.
You will be equally at ease in communicating with business teams as you will be with colleagues within LEC. You will have strong business and data analysis skills to build insightful narratives of key trends, highlighting risks, opportunities, and driving continuous improvement in the team.

What we expect of you, day to day
Reporting and MI : Act as key point of interface for the GC, and alongside the leadership team, drive LEC divisional strategy, owning the processes and updates for LEC reporting of Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews (MBRs, QBRs) and monthly OKR reporting and MI, as well as helping to coordinate and develop supporting material for the annual budget presentation
Operations/Efficiency:
Support, develop and deliver improvement processes across the division that prioritise operational efficiency. Ensure processes are fully documented and controls in place, working with key stakeholders to address any gaps/issues to improve efficiency and/or better address client needs.
Drive thought leadership through harnessing a wide range of internal and external insights to identify opportunities, develop commercially viable business cases & deliver new initiatives, that will drive growth and improve our (internal and external) client/customer experience across all the areas which LEC delivers to the business.
Also being able to put together presentations and other material to demonstrate the efficiencies made across LEC to brief the business on these
Facilitate meetings with key partners to break down siloes – increase communications, transparency of work output and foster more efficient collaboration.
Sourcing: Supporting the negotiation and finalisation of key sourcing contracts alongside Sourcing Legal, taking ownership of relevant tasks within the end to end sourcing process. Supporting the team to manage contract/other queries from Sourcing, and proving feedback/ideas for efficiency improvement, as a key stakeholder.
Law Firm Management:
Support the maintenance of law firm and other legal service provider relationships
Benchmark rates and other engagement terms working with Sourcing
Manage reporting and analyses of legal services and spend, as well as internal metrics
Manage legal e-billing system or equivalent, including matter creation/assignment, rate approvals, invoice review and payment
Assist the GC and LEC leadership team to manage Outside Counsel Guidelines and enforcement
Technology: Work with the GC and LT, coordinating with the Global LEC process planning and technology team and regional Tech team, as appropriate, to develop/ implement a departmental technology plan including future technology needs, assessing effectiveness of existing systems as well as exploring new technologies and tools.
Actively learn and share acquired expertise as desirable
Consistently manage stakeholder expectations, ensure delivery of the highest quality service, and solicit and act on feedback
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
• Knowledge, experience and commercial understanding of the payments/financial services market
• Experience in developing and delivering against strategic / annual plans
• Experience in developing commercially viable business cases and efficiency/process improvements
• Excellent presentation skills / confident in PowerPoint - able to formulate a story
