What’s it all about?
We are looking for a Marketing Director who will lead local Visa marketing activities, Marketing Services and Client co-marketing in Poland. The role will continue to evolve the stature of the Visa brand through a kind of marketing that is strategically sound, evidence based and builds the business of Visa and its partners (including Banks, Merchants and Acquirers), leading work across all media touchpoints. Unlike most other industries, digital payments give a marketer the opportunity to improve the experience of virtually every individual, every day, multiple times per day. And because our business model gives us the chance to work with every retailer every bank and fin-tech in the market, the potential scope and impact of a Visa marketer is extraordinary and hard to replicate in other industries.
The ideal candidate will be a results-oriented, customer focused, highly motivated, and experienced leader with the ability to set a clear vision to drive growth. The individual must be flexible and have a “can do”, positive attitude, combining a solutions-orientated mind-set with a highly collaborative approach. This leader must have a strong track record in managing high-performance teams and influencing across functional areas, coupled with experience of working in a global matrix environment across fast-changing sectors. The selected individual will bring strong commercial acumen, financial fluency and deep, proven marketing expertise in both strategy and delivery, and will be ready to take the team and our clients’ business to the next level.
What we expect of you, day to day:
Coordinate local Visa marketing activities in Poland, lead Client co-marketing, local partnerships, media, digital/social media, support sales process and leverage learnings and insights to constantly strengthen our plans
Responsible for Marketing Services delivery to power our Clients’ businesses and strengthen relations with Clients as well as to support diversification of our revenue mix, efficient utilization of budget, and effective pipeline management. Own key client relationships and lead client negotiations.
Contribute to grow Visa brand preference and relevance in Poland and fuel Activation & Usage to support increase of payment volume
Effectively partner with Visa Consulting and Analytics team to create value for our clients through One Advisory projects (Research & Analysis, Strategy development, Creative services, Execution and optimization) the Sales teams and Country Managers to properly incorporate the view of the market (client, competition, economy trends) into the marketing strategies.
Champion the global brand positioning within the market, ensuring all teams and colleagues can translate it into their own objectives and deliverables.
Drive the development of client co-marketing at a C-suite level making marketing and the Visa brand even more valuable to these stakeholders. Leverage our top sponsorship properties through creating engaging marketing programs that win with consumers and clients
Ensure regular communication with executive leadership in the market and successfully navigate the diverse and dynamic business environment
Oversee complex local projects in partnership with stakeholder within and outside of the function, including Marketing Services, Legal, Sales and Product, Client and agencies
Manage team of marketers and develop the team to become the best marketing organization in the market, ensuring appropriate succession planning and maximizing employee engagement
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Experience:
• Results-oriented marketer with significant leadership experience with world-class brands
• Proficient in the fundamentals of marketing, performance marketing and brand building
• Strong business acumen, sales mindset and experience in client negotiation or consulting
• Deep knowledge of Polish market – thinks globally while addressing local needs
• Experience of working across different sectors, with financial services / banking and/or big tech being advantageous
• B2B marketing experience would be advantageous
• Experience of building a high motivation team and developing talent for the future
• Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience
• Fluent in English and Polish
