Digital Project Manager

As a Project Manager for the Digital team, you will be responsible for overseeing and delivering complex projects with various stakeholders, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. You will have experience in Agile project management methodologies, including Kanban and Scrum, and will be skilled in fostering team collaboration, quality assurance, and efficiency.

You will be an advocate for best project management practices, driving process improvements, mitigating risks, and ensuring stakeholder alignment. Reporting to the Director of Digital Delivery, you will collaborate closely with the Digital Engineering Manager, Product Owners, Business Analyst/s, and other key stakeholders to drive project success. Additionally, you will have experience working with clients to ensure customer satisfaction and project alignment with business needs.

As an Agile leader, you will focus on continuous improvement, fostering a high-performing team culture, and championing the delivery of high-quality projects that add value to the business. You will be comfortable working to tight deadlines across multiple projects while maintaining high standards of execution. This is a hybrid role, requiring in-office attendance twice a week.

About the role

  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones, ensuring successful execution
  • Manage project resources, including team allocation, workload balancing, and budget tracking
  • Support the Engineering Manager in leading Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews
  • Work closely with the Digital Engineering Manager to ensure alignment between development teams and project objectives
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks that could impact project success
  • Monitor project progress, proactively addressing any roadblocks or issues
  • Ensure clear and transparent communication between all stakeholders, including clients
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and product managers, to align priorities and expectations
  • Maintain and improve project management processes and best practices
  • Track and report on key project metrics, providing insights to leadership
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and improvement within the project teams
  • Engage with clients to understand their needs, manage expectations, and drive customer success
  • Lead and steer customer meetings with a clear agenda and action points

About you

  • 4+ years of project management experience, preferably in a commercial or technology-driven organization
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban
  • Experience working with software development teams and understanding of SDLC
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Trello, Wrike or Microsoft Project
  • Experience working closely with Engineering Managers to align project execution with technical goals
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while working to tight deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience managing budgets, resources, and stakeholder expectations
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Experience in client and customer success, ensuring satisfaction and ongoing engagement.

This is a hybrid role with a home and office-based split, requiring regular weekly (2 days per week) attendance in the Cape Town office.
