This role involves learning the government contracting lifecycle, leading capture efforts, and driving strategic growth through aligning our solutions with client needs.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Portfolio Manager / Senior Program Manager with extensive DoD experience to oversee a portfolio of small to mid-sized projects. The ideal candidate will be accountable for customer satisfaction, P&L, Delivery Excellence, and Operational Excellence while ensuring high-quality work products are delivered on time. This role requires a strong background in program management, contract and financial management, digital modernization strategies, and technical solution validation.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage a portfolio of small to mid-size DoD projects, ensuring on-time and high-quality delivery.
- Lead and mentor a team of Project Managers (PMs) and Onsite Leads for delivery excellence.
- Be responsible for customer satisfaction, contract execution, risk management, and organic growth within the portfolio.
- Oversee project administration tasks, including budget review, planning, roadmaps, and overall strategy.
- Maintain strong client relationships and ensure continued strategic alignment with mission needs.
- Support corporate business development and proposal efforts, leveraging on-the-ground PMs and engineers.
- Work in a matrixed environment with varying team sizes, ensuring cross-functional collaboration.
- Develop strategic vision for projects and ensure effective execution, tracking short-term and long-term goals.
- Work closely with technical teams to validate solution designs and assist in planning implementation timelines.
- Utilize agile, scrum, Kanban, waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Conduct ideation sessions and limited prototyping to conceptualize innovative solutions.
- Identify, track, and mitigate delivery risks promptly.
- Establish and maintain a strong communications plan to ensure alignment among team members and stakeholders.
- Drive transition management, ensuring smooth handover and execution of new and ongoing projects.
Qualifications & Experience:- Must have an active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Proven experience managing a portfolio of DoD projects, including customer engagement, contract oversight, and financial management.
- Strong track record in transition management and operational excellence.
- Experience in aligning business needs to technical solutions and defining digital modernization strategies.
- Experience working with government contracts, financial management, and business growth initiatives.
- Ability to travel to customer sites, primarily in San Antonio, as needed.
