Washburn Center for Children is a leading children’s mental health center, caring for a wide variety of children’s needs associated with anxiety, depression, behavioral difficulties and trauma.


The 142-year-old nonprofit offers critical mental health intervention to help children - and their families - realize hope. Washburn Center for Children serves nearly 4,800 children ages 0-18 and approximately 11,000 family members each year. Washburn Center’s three office locations – Brooklyn Park, Edina, and Minneapolis – serve the entire Twin Cities metro area. The nonprofit also offers in-home services, and its school-based program serves 55+ schools in the Eden Prairie, Bloomington, District 191, Columbia Heights and Minneapolis school districts.

Position Summary

The Recruiting Lead will serve as a key member of the Human Resources team - driving talent acquisition strategies that support our mission. This role is responsible for managing and executing the full-cycle recruitment process, building talent pipelines, and ensuring an equitable, inclusive, and values-aligned candidate experience. The Recruiting Lead will play a critical role in shaping the workforce that delivers high-quality mental health care for children and families.


Key Responsibilities

·   Lead and manage the full-cycle recruitment process for clinical, programmatic, administrative, and leadership roles.

·   Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, develop job descriptions, and create tailored sourcing strategies.

·   Build and maintain a strong, diverse talent pipeline through proactive sourcing, networking, job fairs, partnerships, and community outreach.

·   Ensure a positive, mission-centered candidate experience from application to onboarding.

·   Develop and report on recruitment metrics (time-to-fill, source of hire, diversity outcomes, etc.) and recommend process improvements.

·   Collaborate across the agency to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) in hiring practices.

·   Manage applicant tracking system (ATS) processes, ensuring data integrity and consistent documentation.

·   Support employer branding initiatives in partnership with the marketing and communications team to increase visibility within the mental health and nonprofit sectors.

·   Provide guidance and training to hiring managers on interviewing techniques, equitable hiring practices, and candidate evaluation.


Qualifications


Required:

·   Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

·   5+ years of recruitment experience, preferably including healthcare, nonprofit, or mission-based organizations.

·   Demonstrated ability to source and recruit diverse talent across clinical and non-clinical roles.

·   Strong knowledge of equitable hiring practices and commitment to DEIB.

·   Experience managing an applicant tracking system (ATS) and HRIS tools.

·   Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

·   Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


Preferred:

·   Experience recruiting in mental health, social services, or child and family services.

·   Familiarity with employment laws, credentialing requirements, and clinical licensure processes.

·   Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.

 


$80,000 - $100,000 a year

BENEFITS at WASHBURN:

 

Washburn offers benefits to Full-Time benefit eligible employees comprehensive Dental, Vision, Health, Life and Long-term disability insurance.  Additionally, we offer a 403b retirement plan and a flexible benefit option (FSA). 

 

Vacation:  Paid Vacation accrues at 10 hours of vacation per month - up to 15 days / 120 hours annually.

Sick Leave:  Paid sick leave accrues at 6.68 hours of sick per month - up to 10 days / 80 hours.

Holidays:  There are 2.5 days/20 hours of floating holidays per year in addition to the eight standard holidays.
