About the Business Operations Team

The Business Operations (BizOps) team plays a critical role in tackling Wealthsimple's most important and ambiguous challenges. Our mission is to simplify complexity, enhance operational efficiency, and optimize company resources—people, capital, time, and focus.

BizOps thrives in situations where structure is lacking—designing scalable processes, implementing data-driven solutions, and ensuring cross-functional collaboration. If you love problem-solving, strategy, and execution, this is the team for you.

• Collaborate with BizOps leaders on high-priority projects across growth, customer experience, and product strategy.
• Conduct primary and secondary research to develop informed perspectives and recommendations.
• Leverage data to generate insights and drive meaningful business decisions. Strong SQL experience is a plus.
• Take ownership of discrete BizOps projects and engage with leadership to solve complex business problems.
• Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, operations, and executive teams to drive strategic initiatives.
• Adapt to challenges with a no-ego attitude, rolling up your sleeves to get things done.
• Provide clear, well-supported recommendations based on rigorous problem-solving and analysis.
• Contribute to building and shaping the BizOps function at Wealthsimple.

• 2-4 years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, startups, or strategic operations roles.
• Problem-solving expertise—ability to break down complex problems and develop pragmatic solutions.
• Strong data & analytics skills—comfortable managing and analyzing large datasets with a keen eye for detail.
• SQL proficiency is an asset.
• Collaboration mindset—excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
• Bias for action—ability to work independently, take initiative, and deliver results.
• Clear communication—able to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences, including executives and technical teams.
• Strong organization & planning skills—proactive about structuring work, meeting deadlines, and keeping stakeholders informed.
• Integrity & transparency—committed to doing what’s right, not just what’s easy.
