About the Role:

This is a high-impact role focused on creating and sustaining new revenue opportunities for WeatherXM. We’re looking for someone who can go out into the market and actively explore new revenue opportunities and use-cases in various customer segments—especially in regards to  weather risk management for the insurance sector, but also across energy trading, energy optimization, and agritech . 

This role is ideal for someone senior in B2B business development at pre-product market fit tech startups, with a strong preference for candidates with deep domain expertise in insurance/ weather hedging instruments (particularly parametric or weather-linked products both B2B2C and B2C).

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and initiate synergistic partnerships and alliances that can boost the growth of our  network and weather services. 
  • Conduct structured and unstructured customer discovery interviews across industries and verticals (insurance, energy, agritech etc.)
  • Validate early adopter customer segments and use cases, and find possible leads.
  • Identify new possible revenue streams and clients and reshape existing company products as needed. 
  • Build strong relationships with early adopters  and convert pilot projects to paid accounts.
  • Test value propositions and pricing models with potential customers.
  • Create feedback loops between users, product, and engineering teams.
  • Lay the foundation for a scalable sales or partnerships pipeline in the future.

    • 6+ years of experience in early-stage business development, or startup growth roles with focus on product market fit discovery
    • Strong understanding of one or more relevant domains: insurance, weather/climate services, or B2B SaaS.
    • Exceptional communication and listening skills; ability to talk to users and get insights that will help us move forward.
    • Comfort with ambiguity, hypothesis-driven work, and rapid iteration.
    • Self-starter mindset with a bias for action and experimentation.

Βonus Points if You Have:

    • Background in Web3, DeFi, or decentralized networks.
    • Background in parametric insurance.
    • Previous experience in a leadership role ideally in a start-up high tech environment where you drove revenue, growth and sales.
