Job Description

The Innovation and Transformation Advisor is a key role within the Strategy and Transformation office, responsible for driving change, transformation and strategic initiatives across clinical and corporate departments. Working in partnership with cice presidents and senior leaders, this role provides expert advice on change management, project execution and organizational transformation to advance hospital-wide strategic objectives. Reporting to the Director, Innovation and Transformation, this role also supports the development and implementation of innovation initiatives that drive value for the organization.

This role requires a highly autonomous and strategic thinker with strong consulting, project management and change leadership capabilities. The incumbent will lead complex, cross-functional initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, seamless execution and measurable outcomes that enhance the hospital’s ability to innovate and adapt.

Accountabilities:

  • Strategic project and execution
    • Apply various innovation, continuous improvement and project management approaches, frameworks and tools to ensure transformation projects have clear, measurable outcomes aligned with corporate strategy
    • Oversee integrated project planning and execution, ensuring transformation initiatives remain on track, on budget and deliver intended benefits
    • Provide internal consulting expertise to align business objectives with corporate outcomes, developing specific and measurable deliverables
    • Manage the intake, prioritization and resource allocation for transformation initiatives to ensure alignment with strategic priorities
    • Define, track, and assess milestones, key performance indicators (KPIs) and impact metrics to evaluate the success of transformation efforts
    • Support multi-disciplinary project teams through all phases of the project lifecycle, providing coaching, motivation and strategic direction
  • Innovation and transformation expertise
    • Support Director/AVP in development and execution of Innovation and Transformation development and implementation
    • Conduct business analysis and needs assessments across departments to identify innovation and transformation opportunities
    • Support the design, piloting and implementation of new models of care, digital tools and operational improvements
    • Lead or coordinate specific transformation and innovation initiatives, including developing project charters, timelines and success metrics
    • Facilitate stakeholder engagement sessions, workshops and co-design activities to gather input and foster alignment
    • Monitor and evaluate initiative progress against defined KPIs and report on impact and outcomes
    • Contribute to the development of business cases and funding proposals
    • Maintain documentation, dashboards and other knowledge products to support decision-making and sustainability
    • Scan for internal ideas and external trends to inform pipeline development
  • Change management expertise
    • Provide strategic change management advice to senior leadership, overseeing the planning and implementation of transformation initiatives across clinical and corporate areas, using ProSci concepts (e.g. ADKAR and others)
    • Develop and integrate comprehensive change management strategies into project plans to ensure all impacted staff understand the necessity of change and are prepared for adoption
    • Build plans to ensure change leadership is active and visible, driving engagement and commitment across all levels of the organization
    • Proactively identify risks to successful change adoption and develop appropriate mitigation strategies to maximize employee engagement and minimize resistance
    • Identify and track KPIs and metrics to evaluate change success and sustainability
    • Leverage industry-leading change management practices to prepare the organization for transformation
  • Stakeholder engagement and advisory support
    • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, equipping them to serve as effective change champions
    • Engage and communicate with diverse stakeholders, ensuring alignment, collaboration and a shared understanding of transformation goals and priorities
    • Provide oversight and advice to executive and leadership structures overseeing major project deliverables and transformation initiatives
    • Prepare and present reports, proposals and executive briefings to inform decision-making at all levels, including senior management, Board of Directors and external stakeholders
  • Organizational capability building and continuous improvement
    • Increase the organization’s ability to adopt best practices in transformation, change management and project management
    • Lead the development of in-house project management, change management and innovation best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
    • Maintain strong connections across portfolios to harmonize transformation initiatives and reduce duplication of efforts
    • Stay abreast of emerging trends, methodologies and innovations in health care transformation and apply insights to organizational initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, health care management, engineering, health informatics or a related field
  • Master’s degree in business administration, health administration or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum five to seven years of experience in strategic transformation, change management and project management within a healthcare or complex organizational setting
  • Strong expertise in change management methodologies (e.g., Prosci, ADKAR), continuous improvement and project management frameworks (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, PMP)
  • Proven experience in leading large-scale transformation projects in healthcare, including clinical and corporate initiatives
  • Proficient in co-creation methods, human-centered design, design thinking and group facilitation
  • Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends and translate insights into actionable strategies
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive reports and presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
  • Knowledge of hospital operations, healthcare policies, and regulatory requirements is an asset

Hours: Currently days (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

This is a hybrid role: Roles that function remotely, but require essential, regular onsite weekly work

Annual Salary:
Minimum:  $  96,681.00
Maximum: $120,841.50
