Encore Boston Harbor is a luxury global destination gaming resort that will feature 671 hotel rooms with sweeping views of the Boston skyline and Boston Harbor, ultra-premium spa, luxury retail, high-end dining, and state-of-the-art ballroom and meeting spaces. It is the largest private single-phase development in the history of the Commonwealth.  Situated on the waterfront along the Mystic River and connected to Boston Harbor, Encore Boston Harbor will include a six-acre park along the water that will feature a harborwalk, an events lawn, public viewing areas, ornate floral displays and retail and dining experiences that overlook the Encore Harbor Walk. 

Job Description

The Encore Boston Harbor Database Sr. Marketing Analyst is responsible for using advanced qualitative and quantitative methods when running database queries and segmentation for Domestic Marketing programs and analysis.  

This role will be directly involved with both the set up and execution of segmented Domestic Marketing customer loyalty programs, VIP Events and floorwide promotions and working with departmental team members to provide analytic support

This role will also assist in analysis to determine the effectiveness of Domestic Marketing programs and create analysis and reports to support senior management decision-making

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: maximizing opportunities for departmental and company success; maintaining all Encore Standards; and ensuring excellent guest and team member experiences.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Ensures all Encore Boston Harbor core values and property and department standards are implemented and applied 
  • This position reports to the Director of Database Marketing.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of all database queries as directed by the department Manager/Director. This includes both automated and ad hoc queries.
  • Responsible for departmental reporting and/or analysis as requested.
  • Responsible for Domestic Marketing Loyalty Program Proformas and Postformas.
  • Responsible for assisting with the creation of promotional and system setups for customer loyalty programs, Ad Hoc programs, VIP programs and Slot Marketing special event promotions. This includes but is not limited to:
    • Ensuring accuracy
    • Compliance is established/maintained for all regulatory controls.
    • Adherence to departmental procedures.
    • Ensuring all appropriate team members are trained on the above processes and procedures.
  • Responsible for creating matrices, instructions and directions for internal and external partners.
  • Responsible for data audits, segmentation and program proofing.
  • May assist with creative proofing
  • Work closely with members of the Digital Marketing team.
  • Accountable for the accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of departmental policies and procedures; records and reports.
  • Ensures that internal policies, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and controls are enforced. 
  • Participate in the execution of short-and long-term departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates promotional effectiveness; provides suggestions for improvement.Identifies key database segments to monitor and assess: both profitable and unprofitable.  
  • Keeps informed of all new developments within the department and supports all recommendations designed to maximize department and company success.
  • Manages multiple priorities simultaneously and meets deadlines, often in stressful and high pressure situations.
  • Provides professional service to internal and external guests.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; can communicate recommendations based on the data.
  • Works with safety as a priority, and follows department and company safety standards.
  • Maintains relevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training.
  • Performs any other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Age, Gaming and Certifications:

21 years of age or above.

Will be required to obtain and maintain registration or a license issued by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.

Education and/or Experience: 

Bachelor’s Degree or above in a related field or equivalent experience required.

Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically Outlook, Word, Access, & PowerPoint. Expert level in Excel.

Must possess outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills, as well as excellent attention to detail.

The following skills or experiences are required:  

  • Minimum 2 -4 years of Database Marketing, Business Insights or Data Science experience
  • Database querying proficiency with SQL Server, Snowflake or similar tools

The following skills or experiences are preferred but not required:

  • Previous casino or hospitality systems experience including IGT Advantage, Opera is valued.
  • Familiarity with relational database structures and the knowledge of how to use that data with marketing segmentation & offers.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, marketing reports, segmentation matrices and vendor instructions.  Additional documents may include and not be limited to:  policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests. Fluency in English.  Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations.

Mathematical Skills & Reasoning Ability:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to analyze database information (demographic and gaming) to forecast and succinctly present to senior management alternate scenarios to consider. Statistical and/or Modeling background is a plus.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Essential responsibilities include moderate physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least thirty (30) pounds, and varied instances of standing/walking.

  • The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.  When on the casino floor or some back of house areas, the noise level increases to loud. Must be able to interact with internal and external guests in a professional manner.
  • Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Team Members must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
  • Reliable, consistent, and punctual attendance is required.
