Quality Assurance Team Leader

The Quality Assurance Team Leader plays a critical role in leading the QA team to ensure that Zain Cash products and internal IT projects meet the highest standards of quality before release. This role involves overseeing system integration testing, mentoring team members, and ensuring that testing processes are effectively executed and continuously improved. The QA Team Leader acts as a key liaison between QA, product, and development teams to support product quality and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the QA team to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of testing activities.
  • Plan, integrate, write test cases, and oversee execution of all testing required for Zain Cash Payment Services products.
  • Own and maintain the overall QA strategy, test environments, and documentation.
  • Design and lead automation frameworks and guide the team on test automation scripting.
  • Ensure that all software releases are bug-free and meet functional, performance, and security requirements.
  • Review and validate bugs reported by the team and ensure timely resolution in collaboration with development and product teams.
  • Generate and review test plans, bug reports, test coverage documentation, and metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement in QA practices, tools, and processes.
  • Provide training, support, and guidance to QA team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand product goals and proactively identify quality risks and gaps.
  • Prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and manage team resources to meet testing deadlines.
  • Participate in sprint planning and project meetings, representing QA interests.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance or related field, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong experience in manual and automated testing across web, mobile, and APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, Cucumber, JMeter, etc.
  • Familiarity with Java or similar environments for test automation scripting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in performance and load testing is a plus.
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum teams is preferred.
