About The Role:
We are currently searching for an Intern who is passionate about Earned Media/Corporate Public Relations to join our team. This hybrid position will encompass a wide array of responsibilities, with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience representing a top corporate client and supporting a variety of interesting projects for high-profile clients as a member of Zeno's Earned Media team.

Responsibilities - Work closely with Zeno Media Network, the global earned media specialist team, while learning the basics of an earned-first, data-driven approach
- Support the day-to-day administrative tasks for the earned media team and activities across 2-3 accounts
- Monitor and track client and competitor media coverage for accounts and distribute coverage results for teams
- Identify key trends across social media and media to help teams jump on current buzzworthy opportunities for coverage
- Support Zeno Media Network with development and organizing of internal materials
- Draft media materials, including but not limited to press releases, media lists, fact sheets, briefing sheets, pitches and POVs to support executive positioning for client spokespeople
- Regularly pitch national and local reporters to help secure coverage for client initiatives
- Conduct research and draft competitor audits to aid in the strategy development process for current clients and new business pitches
- Learn to use essential tools, including Cision, Newswhip Analytics, Newswhip Spike and MuckRack
- Participate in brainstorm sessions and program ideation for both day-to-day accounts and other Zeno clients
- Work closely with account team members to develop and deliver key client deliverables, learning the basics of the clients’ business.
- Create and distribute mailers, press kits and briefing kits
Qualifications- Passion for and understanding of media relations
- Must have an appreciation for reading/watching the news – often starts conversations with, “Did you see that thing in [media outlet]?”
- Interest in securing coverage for high-profile brands and regularly pitching news to journalists
- Always in the know on the latest viral trends and what is currently breaking the internet
- Can confidently speak up to share new ideas, pick-up the phone and call journalists when needed and not afraid to speak up and share new ideas
- Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Driven, resourceful, organized, interested in learning new things with an attention to detail
- Collaborative spirit, results driven with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work against deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
- Must be proactive and able to operate effectively both independently and within a team
- Basic understanding of social media platforms, preferably Instagram and TikTok
- MS Office proficiency is a must, and knowledge of the Google suite is preferred
- Familiar with the public relations, marketing, or communications discipline through past coursework, internships or personal experiences
Pay rate: $18/hour USD
An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs.
