Please note that this position is based in San Diego, CA. Acadia's hybrid model requires this role to work in our office three days per week on average.

Position Summary:

Under direction, the Network Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the design, configuration, implementation, support, and ongoing enhancement of assigned infrastructure related technologies including networks, telephony, security, servers and enterprise tools.  The Network Engineer will lead and/or participate in assigned infrastructure technology projects.  The Network Engineer will also select and manage vendors for implementation and ongoing support to provide reliable infrastructure technologies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Designs and leads the implementation, management and upgrades of assigned infrastructure related projects and technologies
  • Coaches Service Desk and provides guidance to Network Administrators
  • Acts as a point of contact for infrastructure related incidents that cannot be resolved by other members of the IT Infrastructure team or third-party service providers
  • Provides administration, upgrades and repairs for server, network, security, and telephony solutions located within the enterprise – either directly or via third party service providers
  • Performs and participates in implementation, monitoring and audits of network, server and telephony infrastructure and leads mitigation of any risks identified within the enterprise to ensure the organization meets industry best practice security measures and regulatory requirements
  • Using various tools, techniques and industry best practices, monitors servers, systems and networks located throughout the enterprise for performance, issues, errors or faults and reports to such to improve performance and correct any issues
  • Ensures server and network performance is monitored, reported on and maintained at the highest levels possible within the environment
  • Investigates Root Cause Analysis of major failures, faults or issues with servers, application, networks and telephony within the Enterprise
  • Leads IT change management process and leads infrastructure related vendors
  • Supports and assists with projects and company initiatives as needed
  • Manages or assists with managing relationships with infrastructure related vendors
  • Provides third level support as needed for end user devices and applications with issues that are more complex in nature
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Targeting a Bachelor’s Degree and/or advanced vendor certifications and 5 years of experience or equivalent  progressive experience in an enterprise IT environment
  • Minimum 5 years practical experience working with Cisco Layer-2 switching, Firewalls, IP Routing and Services, QoS, etc.
  • Minimum 5 years practical experience working with various server technologies including Microsoft Windows, Active Directory and virtualization (VMware ESX, Hyper-V, etc)
  • At least 5 years of experience identifying, quantifying and mitigating risks with networks and servers
  • Knowledge and experience with design, implementation, monitoring and support of network routing and switching, wireless and Firewalls/VPNs
  • Good understanding and experience with design, implementation, monitoring and support of communications technologies, VoIP, PBX switches/gateways, video conferencing and voice/data carrier circuits
  • Good vendor management experience

Preferred:

  • A good understanding of Cloud-based technologies.
  • Experience providing multi-site and mobile workforce support.
  • Good knowledge of logging, monitoring and event management applications with regard to systems and networks.

Physical Requirements:

This role involves regular standing, walking, sitting, and the use of hands for handling or operating equipment. The employee may also need to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and maintain visual, verbal, and auditory communication in a standard office environment and while working independently from remote locations. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.  This position requires the ability to travel independently overnight and/or work after hours as required by travel schedules or business needs.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for discretionary bonus and equity awards based on factors such as individual and organizational performance. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location. 

Salary Range
$103,300$129,100 USD
