ABOUT THE POSITION:

As a Tax Senior or a Supervisor specializing in Research and Development client industry here at Anchin you will serve as a subject matter expert in research and development (R&D) tax credits and incentives, leading efforts to maximize tax benefits for the company. This role involves in-depth knowledge of tax regulations, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, document, and optimize eligible R&D activities and expenditures. In this role you will provide  mentorship to the junior level tax members while staying current on evolving tax laws and incentive programs. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the identification, evaluation, and documentation of eligible R&D activities and expenses across the organization.
  • Provide Research and Development (R&D) credit knowledge and experience on an industry basis.
  • Assist in R&D credit studies and related activities.
  • Keep up-to-date on current R&D credit practices and tax law.
  • Analyze complex technical and financial data to ensure accurate qualification of R&D projects under relevant tax regulations.
  • Prepare, review, and submit comprehensive R&D tax credit claims, ensuring compliance with deadlines and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay abreast of changing tax laws, regulations, and incentive programs related to R&D tax credits, ensuring the organization remains compliant.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field. 
  • CPA certification is preferred. 

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience assisting with R&D credit projects and/or minimum two years of experience reviewing corporate/partnership tax returns. 
  • Prior tax experience within a public accounting firm, corporation or law firm. 
  • Excellent excel skills. 
  • Excellent technical writing ability. 
  • Client facing skills (interviewing, etc).
