This position plays an integral role in building a holistic view and roadmap of Argo’s technology strategy, processes and information technology roadmap. Partnering with business and technology groups, this position ensures that proposed technical solutions not only align with the company’s overall objectives but also ensures that both groups enable and drive each other to meet the needs of the company’s mission and vision.

Responsible for organizational direction, leadership, and quality assurance within their identified technical discipline, this position leads research, recommendation, and development of advanced architecture solutions across the enterprise. This position works closely with IT leadership and business partners in needs assessment and developing solutions proposals.  Proven in the skills of communication, leadership, judgment, and innovation, this role is granted a high degree of autonomy in their technical responsibilities and works under very minimal supervision. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish job responsibilities and goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The Senior Enterprise Architect will lead and direct the work of others and will have on-call responsibilities as necessary.

Primary Position Functions/Responsibilities

  • Lead Enterprise Architecture practice for the organization. Ensures that proposed technical solutions align with the company’s overall objectives. Responsible for organizational direction, leadership and quality assurance within assigned area. (70%)
  • Delegate, coordinate, schedule and estimate work on multiple and/or complex projects. (15%)
  • Lead and direct the work of others which includes supervision responsibilities. This includes conducting one-one-ones, reviews, etc. (15%)
  • All other responsibilities as assigned.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or equivalent experience.
  • 12 or more years of related experience in Development and Analysis.
  • 3 or more years of supervisory experience is required.

 

Other Credentials and Job Requirements:

  • Continually seeks to learn and apply emerging technology. 
  • Ability to “think big” and challenge conventional wisdom regarding technology refresh and hype.
  • Strong project management and organization skills.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and willing to take principled bets on new technology.
  • Ability to establish, implement and enforce IT standards to meet business requirements.
  • Demonstrates expertise in commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the field.
  • Excellent problem identification and problem-solving skills involving complex and ambiguous issues.
  • Ability to champion an idea and bring a group to consensus.
  • Experience with level of effort estimation, planning and prioritization of projects.
  • Must meet or exceed the ability to demonstrate the core and common competencies outlined below.
  • Extensive Insurance product knowledge required.
  • Convey clear, concise information to others, using verbal or other appropriate communication techniques.

  • Follow safe practices in all work activities to avoid injuries and accidents.

The base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.

New York City Pay Range:
$185,900$223,100 USD
