Bilingual Medical Assistant/Care Coordinator

Sun Valley Spine and Orthopedic is looking for an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team. Medical Assistant must be a superstar and able to work independently both front and back office. Medical Assistant must be willing to travel between our Phoenix and Yuma offices weekly and support the physician assistant and orthopedic surgeon as needed.

Qualifications:

Education: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • medical assistant certification required.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical or orthopedic setting preferred.
  • Strong skills in medical records management and patient scheduling.
  • Proficiency in EMA and Salesforce, and other EMR/EHR systems, but will train the candidate.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under time constraints.
  • Familiarity with lien-based healthcare coordination is a plus.

Front office duties

  • Scheduling referrals and maintaining proper follow up
  • Take ownership over patient files for review and communication with referring accounts
  • Work consistently and proactively to address patient care issues; draft updates to referring and collaborating providers, attorneys and internal contacts regarding patient care
  • Accurately maintain case management data in the case management system
  • Schedule/re-schedule each patient quickly and efficiently as required, communicating with the attorney office
  • Identify issues and solve problems quickly
  • Communicate effectively with our internal billing and records specialists to ensure the correct and complete bills and medical records are obtained timely
  • Enter detailed notes in EHR and keep cases updated daily
  • Coordinate transportation for patients as required
  • Answer all inbound communication and redirect as required

 Back Office

  • Room Patients /take vitals
  • Medications reconciliation
  • Take patient medical history enter into EHR
  • Chart Prep
  • Appointments are scheduled and rescheduled as necessary.
  • Coordinate provider orders to external facilities, including: imaging centers, physical therapy, chiropractic care, and X-ray facilities, often on a lien basis.

Travel and Coordination:

  • Travel between Phoenix and Yuma office as needed ensuring all operational needs are met.
  • Maintain communication with the Phoenix and Yuma offices and ensure seamless coordination of schedules and patient care between locations.
  • Full-time employment with competitive pay.
