About this Role:
The Shop Technician is responsible for the repair of all upholstery and case good product, including hands-on repairs. The technician also is responsible for identifying continual quality improvement related to shop repairs and meeting all key performance indicators set for the Shop area.
Essential Functions:
- Fluent in product repair categories including touch up, minor, major repairs.
- Responsible to prioritize work and maintain quality & productivity metrics for repairs within Shop area
- Responsible to execute and repair any damage, including severe damage
- Execute special projects as necessary to enhance overall operations.
- Initiates the product repull and discard process.
- Understands expectations of the lineup inspection process including unboxing techniques, deluxing techniques, touch up qualifications, assembly techniques, finishing techniques and product quality inspection.
- Responsible for product flow standards, quality & productivity metrics, and cleanliness expectations.
- Knowledge of safety & OSHA guidelines related to lifting and equipment. Must be able to meet deadlines, work well under pressure, flexible, and dependable.
- Assess damages and choose the appropriate method of repair for case goods, leather, fabric and upholstery
- Perform various furniture services duties to include the repair and refurbishment of all case goods, upholstery and leather
- Ability to showcase techniques such as fillers, burn-ins, color matching, structural repairs and installation of replacement parts
- Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and professionalism at all times
- Knowledge of MSDS requirements
- Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Schedule Expectations:
- The Shop Technician will be scheduled a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.

- Prior warehouse experience, specifically upholstery & case good repairs.
