About the Role:

Atria is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Specialist to join our growing finance team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing end-to-end payroll processing, a deep understanding of tax regulations, and ensuring compliance with all relevant payroll laws. As the Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing for all Atria employees, helping to maintain financial integrity, and contributing to a positive work environment.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Payroll Processing: Oversee the full payroll process for all employees, ensuring accurate and timely processing of semi-monthly based on company policies and employee work schedules.
  • Time and Attendance Management: Monitor employee time and attendance records, ensuring that all time-off requests, overtime, and leave balances are accurately reflected in the payroll system. Resolve discrepancies related to timesheets or attendance records.
  • Tax Compliance: Calculate and withhold appropriate federal, state, and local taxes, ensuring compliance with all tax laws. Submit required tax payments and filings on time, including payroll tax reports, quarterly filings (e.g., 941), and year-end filings (e.g., W-2s).
  • Payroll Reporting: Prepare and maintain detailed reports related to payroll, including payroll summaries, tax filings, benefits deductions, and any other necessary documentation for auditing or regulatory purposes.
  • Employee Inquiries: Serve as the point of contact for payroll-related questions, addressing employee concerns related to pay, benefits, deductions, and tax withholdings. Provide clear and accurate responses in a timely manner.
  • System Maintenance and Updates: Ensure payroll software is up to date with any changes in tax laws, benefits plans, or regulatory requirements. Collaborate with HR and IT teams to ensure seamless integration between HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Ad-hoc Projects: Assist with other administrative tasks and ad-hoc payroll-related projects as needed, such as bonus calculations, retroactive pay adjustments, and benefits audits.

Compensation:

  • $85,000-105,000 depending on experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in payroll processing and administration
  • Proficiency with payroll software experience with Rippling, ADP
  • Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, wage laws, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage confidential information with integrity and professionalism
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, growing environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office applications

Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification is preferred
