ABOUT THE ROLE

The primary responsibility of the Audio Engineer (A1) is to manage all things audio, including live mixing of shows, ensuring audio quality is up to client and venue expectations, leading a team of audio technicians, and troubleshooting venue audio issues. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage in-house audio rigging, speakers, backline, consoles, cabling
  • Provide alternative support for incoming touring teams interfacing to in house audio systems
  • Manage audio equipment inventory, maintenance, and storage
  • Oversee tool inventory, distribution, maintenance, and storage
  • Assist with installing in-house audio rigging, speakers, backline, consoles, cabling as required
  • Coordinates all house audio levels and EQ settings
  • Manage event specific audio deployments per rider
  • Troubleshooting venue audio issues
  • Log and report consumable supplies status, equipment maintenance needs to Audio Manager
  • Patch and Mix as required for shows/events without Mix Engineer or with guest Mix Engineer
  • Patch and test audio gear on in house console as required
  • RF coordination to ensure high quality operation of in house RF systems in addition to external RF equipment
  • Ensure audio levels conform to required regulations
  • Ensure audio quality adheres to client and venue expectations
  • Maintain safe working practices including OSHA and covid guidelines
  • Provide PM with end-of-shift reports detailing challenges and/or achievements

DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • SMAART Operator Certification required
  • Knowledge of L’acoustics and KV2 audio systems 
  • Extensive knowledge of acoustic predictive software, especially Soundvision, ArrayCalc and EASE
  • Dante Level 2 certification required
  • Extensive experience with Lake audio processing software and hardware
  • Extensive experience using industry leading digital audio mixing consoles (DiGiCo, Midas, Yamaha, Avid, SSL)
  • Advanced understanding and troubleshooting of digital audio signal routing required
  • Advanced understanding of industry leading digital audio protocols required 
  • Experience with RF coordination and Wireless Workbench 6 required. Experience with internal communication systems (ClearCom)
  • Experience with mixing various music genres and various format live events on both FOH and Monitor positions
  • Proficient in Google Workspace
  • Dante Level 3 desirable
  • Wireless Best Practices and Techniques Master Class desired
  • Required proficiency in the Google Workspace suite, and its applications such as Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Drive- including Shared Drives, and Google Groups for seamless team communication. 


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be willing to work long shifts, including overnight shifts
  • Must be willing to work outdoors (all seasons)
  • Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift at least 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work on your feet as well as stationary for at least 12 hours during events
  • Must be comfortable working in an environment with moderate to loud noise level


COMPENSATION

The hourly rate/yearly salary for this position will range from $50/hr - $60/hr based on experience.
