ABOUT THE ROLE
The primary responsibility of the Audio Technician, A2 is to provide support for incoming touring teams, troubleshooting live audio issues as they arise during performances, maintain organization of the Production Storage Area, and coordinate setup and testing of audio gear.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support A1 with installing in-house audio rigging, speakers, backline, consoles, cabling as required
- Provide support for incoming touring teams
- Coordinate setup and testing of audio gear per rider
- Manage artist stage transitions
- Troubleshooting venue audio issues
- Log and report consumable supplies status, equipment maintenance needs to Audio Manager
- Backup coverage for A1 at console when required
- Connecting show required equipment to audio console
- Maintain organization of Production Storage Area
- Ensure all equipment is delivered and picked up from assigned locations
- Provide PM with end-of-shift reports detailing challenges and/or achievements
DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 1-2 years relevant work experience
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Extensive experience with cable management
- Experience with fixing audio related equipment and cables
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and use proactive problem solving
- A strong team-player willing to lend help to ad-hoc tasks at short notice
- Working knowledge of basic hand tools
- Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and possible holidays
- Operational knowledge of industry leading DJ backline. (Pioneer, Allen&Heath, Technics, NI, Rane)
- Operational knowledge of industry leading electronic instruments
- Operational knowledge of amplified & acoustic music instruments
- Proficient in Google Workspace
- Experience in microphone placements for live events
- Understanding of industry leading digital audio mixing consoles
- Good understanding of Dante protocol and basic understanding of other digital audio protocols
- Required proficiency in the Google Workspace suite, and its applications such as Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Drive- including Shared Drives, and Google Groups for seamless team communication.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be willing to work long shifts, including overnight shifts
- Must be willing to work outdoors (all seasons)
- Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift at least 50 pounds
- Must be able to work on your feet as well as stationary for at least 12 hours during events
- Must be comfortable climbing ladders and being in lifts
- Must be comfortable working in an environment with moderate to loud noise level
COMPENSATION
The hourly rate/yearly salary for this position will range from $35/hr - $40/hr based on experience.
