ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a People Operations Assistant to provide administrative support and help with the daily operations of the People Team (Human Resources). This entry-level position is ideal for someone eager to learn more about HR processes. The perfect candidate will be highly organized and detail-oriented. As a People Operations Assistant, you will perform various administrative tasks and support our team in activities such as maintaining employee records, coordinating recruitment, and more.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact. This is a part-time, in-person position reporting to our corporate office, Monday through Friday.

ESSENTIAL ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Reports to Director of People & Culture
  • Maintain the department’s email and respond to routine inquiries from staff, directing them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Support daily HR operations by providing administrative assistance to the People Operations team, which includes document scanning and handling email correspondence.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including completing I-9 verifications.
  • Help prepare and update employee status change documents.
  • Compile and maintain employee records in both digital and physical formats.
  • Support HR projects by coordinating logistics, organizing meetings and training sessions, and recording minutes to ensure effective follow-up.
  • Assist with employment verification requests, including preparing verification letters.
  • Maintain, verify, and organize employee files across all systems.
  • Help track and ensure compliance with anti-harassment training.
  • Manage the HR calendar for key dates while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Assist with event planning and logistics, collaborating on team-building activities.
  • Conduct periodic audits of files and records.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including supporting special projects.

DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Preferred 1 year of experience in an administrative role, not required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

COMPENSATION The hourly range for this position is $25-$30.
