EXPANDED LEARNING PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR @ E.R Taylor Elementary 

We are currently seeking committed and passionate Instructors to lead Academic, Enrichment and Recreation activities for the Expanded Learning Program. Our ideal Program Instructor will have a strong dedication to youth development, a sense of creativity and enthusiasm and be able to commit to working the entire school year and potentially summer program. 

Bay Area Community Resources at E.R Taylor Elementary School in San Francisco is seeking committed and passionate Program Instructors to lead academic, physical, and enrichment activities as part of our Beacon After School Programs. Under the direction of the Site Coordinator, Program Instructors will provide homework assistance and will lead Project-based learning opportunities with groups of up to 20 students. In addition to providing a structured environment for "homework time," qualified candidates should be comfortable planning and leading one-hour creative lessons for enrichment time/clubs.

  • Pay rate: $23 - $25 per hour DOE

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to work Monday – Friday until 6:00 pm for the duration of the school year.
  • Must have an AA degree or higher, 48 + college credits OR pass the SFUSD Instructional Aide Exam 
  • Must pass a criminal background check and have TB Clearance 
  • Must be able to communicate openly in a professional manner with students, parents, community partners, and BACR staff. 
  • Passionate about youth development 
  • Experience working with Elementary youth preferred 
  • Strong classroom management skills 
  • Ability to plan and facilitate activities for up to 20 students 
  • Must be able to work independently or part of a team 
  • Actively supervise and ensure student safety at all times 
  • Model positive and proactive attitudes, behaviors and language 

Preferred: 

  • Spanish speakers preferred, but not required 
  • Cantonese / Mandarin speakers preferred, but not required 
  • Some Experience working with Elementary aged youth
