The Financial Analyst, Hotels & Hospitality will support the Mortgage Banking Team by assisting with preparing underwritings and offering memorandums for marketing to the lender universe. This role is crucial in providing excellent support to the team as they conduct market research, analyze trends, and assess the viability of financing complex hotel assets nationwide.

  • Assist mortgage bankers in preparing offering memorandums, underwritings, and debt sizing presentations for senior executive review.
  • Support the market research manager in procuring and analyzing market data, competition, and trends.
  • Prepare financial models using various underwriting, debt sizing, and valuation methods, including DCF, Direct Cap, Comp Sale, and IRR.
  • Conduct financial analysis and projections for financing opportunities to evaluate financial feasibility and execution certainty.
  • Analyze P&L statements and competitive market STAR Reports.
  • Maintain databases tracking financing trends, lender appetites, investment sales activity, construction pipelines, and other real estate metrics.
  • Participate in high-level presentations for internal and external clients.
  • Review industry surveys, benchmarks, and economic and demographic trends, and prepare market reports.
  • Build strong working relationships with the team to understand their needs for market intelligence and client assignments.
  • Manage third-party reports to complete underwriting and due diligence for acquisitions and dispositions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including reporting and building trackers.

  • General understanding of real estate underwriting, particularly in the lodging sector.
  • Strong modeling skills and ability to create individual/portfolio underwritings, charts, and presentation tables.
  • Experience with data analytics related to demographics, competitors, and real estate trends is preferred.
  • Knowledge of real estate value drivers, including capital markets and submarket dynamics, is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively in writing and through data visualization.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop) is preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple assignments, and adapt to rapidly changing environments in a team setting.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • One to three years prior experience in a similar position.

The provided base salary information for this position is part of an overall national range. The actual salary within our range for this position will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate. The total compensation package for this role may also include additional incentive opportunities.

Compensation
$65,000$70,000 USD
