Jr FOIA Coordinator

Blew & Associates, P.A. seeks a detail-oriented and motivated Jr FOIA Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be able to help manage Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and guidelines. This position will involve reviewing documents, communicating with requesters, and supporting the organization's transparency efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the processing and tracking FOIA requests from initial receipt to final response.
  • Review documents for relevance and applicability to FOIA requests, ensuring they meet legal standards.
  • Communicate effectively with requesters to provide updates, clarify requests, and respond to inquiries.
  • Maintain detailed records and create reports on FOIA requests and responses.
  • Research and gather information to support the fulfillment of FOIA requests.
  • Collaborate with various departments to obtain necessary information and coordinate responses.
  • Stay informed about changes to FOIA laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities related to FOIA and records management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience with records management or compliance is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Freedom of Information Act principles and procedures is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • A bachelor’s degree in public administration, law, business, or a related field is preferred.
