Senior Strategic Finance Executive

Company

Bodily is a growth-stage company dedicated to developing research-driven products that address key physiological transitions in women’s bodies, designed to look and feel incredible—so women can too. Our omni-channel business offers transformative products (intimates, supplements, and personal care) alongside access to our rigorous, research-backed articles which are read globally. We are committed to driving meaningful change in women’s health while addressing a massive, untapped need. Bodily is proudly backed by Hearst Corporation, Morgan Stanley, Blue Hour Ventures, Global Founders Capital, FJ Labs and celebrities Brooklyn Decker and Andy Roddick.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic VP of Finance & Strategy to join our executive team. Founded and led by Tovah Haim, a former buyout private equity investor and CFO/head of strategy for companies like Daily Harvest, Blue Apron, and Ralph Lauren, Bodily represents a unique opportunity for an ambitious finance leader.

This role is ideal for candidates with a private equity or investment banking background looking to be mentored into the VP of Finance & Strategy seat by someone who has made that exact transition, or for exceptional candidates who have experience leading strategic finance and managing the complexities of companies with physical products. You will oversee accounting, finance, and corporate strategy, with a focus on providing the analyses and insights that drive executive decision-making and the future direction of Bodily.

You will also own forecasting, prediction, and data insights to inform key decisions, and will lead the creation of board materials, playing a central role with investors and in board meetings. This person will partner closely with the founder, playing a key position in the company’s decision-making. The founder understands the heft this person brings to the table, giving them room to run, and speaks the same strategic language—creating a unique space for a high-performing finance leader. There is also an opportunity for the right person to grow into, and beyond the CFO role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating Model Ownership: Own the operating model, forecasting low/mid/high cases across key stats & metrics, owning and managing strategic planning through cash planning for the company.
  • Strategic Analysis: Provide strategic analytical partnership to executives and leaders across the organization, supporting our deep data driven decision-making. Build and refine forecasting models for predicting top line using statistical models, through inventory planning to manage and balance risk and opportunity in both a rigorous and agile way.
  • Board and Investor Relations: Lead the preparation of board materials, play a key role in board meetings, and regularly interface with investors.
  • Partnerships: Lead partnerships, providing analytical rigor, strategic insights and strong negotiation skills to opportunities originated across the organization.
  • Accounting: Lead our outsourced Big 4 accounting team to close the books and maintain GAAP financials, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  •  Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Lead FP&A to deliver strategic insights, prepare monthly reports, and present budget vs. actual comparisons with actionable recommendations.
  • Cost Efficiency & Growth: Drive initiatives to optimize cash flow, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support the company's growth strategies.
  • Financial Systems & Processes: Oversee financial systems like QuickBooks and Cin7, ensuring seamless integration and process efficiency. Lead balance sheet management, including cash flow, financing needs, and accounts payable optimization.
  • Executive Leadership & Legal Oversight: Partner with the CEO to lead legal matters, mentor junior finance team members, and play a central role in executive decision-making and company-wide prioritization.

Professional Qualifications

  • Experience: 7+ years in finance, with significant experience in mid-market to buyout private equity or top-tier investment banking M&A, and a proven track record in a leadership role, ideally within a startup environment.
  • Financial Modeling: Advanced financial modeling skills, with the ability to develop and refine complex models that support strategic decision-making and business planning.
  • Strategic & Analytic Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and drive business performance and corporate strategy through rigorous financial analysis and cross-functional collaboration. Strong analytical skills applied to strategic planning, corporate finance, and decision-making processes.
  • Critical Thinking: Exceptional critical thinking skills, enabling you to weigh risk and opportunity across multiple complex and seemingly unquantifiable variables.
  • Communication & Presentation Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to distill complex analyses into clear, concise, and polished presentations for diverse stakeholders, including board members and non-financial team members.
  • Legal: Experience in legal negotiations, managing and navigating legal matters in a business context.
  • Ambition & Drive: A proactive, ambitious individual with a strong desire to lead, innovate, and make a significant impact within the organization.

Personal Qualifications

  • High integrity and ethics; style and behavior aligning mission of Bodily
  • Collaborative with a track record of building strong internal and external relationships.
  • Proven ability to flex between setting strategy, building for scale, and executing.
  • Agile with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Analytical and metrics-driven, regularly leveraging data to support business decisions.
  • Demonstrate a can-do attitude, focused on solutions instead of problems.
  • Role-model a strong work ethic, initiative, entrepreneurial mindset, and willingness to roll up sleeves (operating in a lean environment with limited administrative support).
  • Operate with a low ego and be respectful to employees at all levels of the organization.

  • Rare professional development opportunity to grow under the mentorship of a CEO with deep industry experience, while paving your own path in a high-impact, leadership position.
  • The ability to join a company that is not just growing, but leading in its field. You’ll have the chance to shape our financial future, working closely with a leadership team that values innovation, creativity, and data-driven decision-making.
  • NYC office with a flexible hybrid work policy.
