Our flagship office is in Sydney, Australia, but we've made our way from down under, to a hub in San Francisco, which is now home to our US operations. We offer flexibility in how and where you work. What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Own organic growth across Google Play, Apple App Store and Microsoft Store for Canva in key global markets. - Develop and implement market level ASO strategies & work closely with local marketing teams. This is not just about optimising and tweaking here and there - it’s about holistic app store marketing strategies.
  • Undertake continuous app store optimisation (ASO) to maximise our app store visibility and conversion. Seek out new opportunities provided by data and competitive research.
  • Run app store promotions via iOS In App Events and Google Play Promotional Content cards as a way to boost awareness and re-engage existing ones. Work in partnership with the App Partnerships team to advocate for featuring and inclusion in global store-wide promotions.
  • Create and implement Google Play Custom Store Listings and iOS Custom Product Pages to capitalise on high growth opportunities unlocked by customising content.
  • Own analytics in the app stores, such as conversion optimisation, app store visibility, promotion effectiveness, overall signups and monthly active users. 
  • Increase quality traffic to Canva using legitimate growth efforts. We are not looking at adopting any malpractices to grow user numbers and want to ensure our commitment to quality and integrity which is critical to Canva’s success. 
  • Apply your ASO skills to the Canva Desktop App to optimise Canva’s presence in desktop app stores such as Microsoft Store and Mac App Store.
  • Use insights tools (e.g. Apptweak and Data.ai) to find new demand on the app stores for product features. And identify opportunity areas to highlight Canva’s growing range of use cases based on new product features.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams across Canva including Creative, Performance Marketing, International Marketing, Data and Product Marketing.

You're probably a match if

  • You possess deep ASO experience on a global scale for major mobile app. A a proven track record of implementing ASO strategies and partnering with the stores to grow mobile audiences. You will know how to adapt strategies to grow an app with low brand awareness vs one that is a house hold name.
  • You come from agency or client side, we don’t mind as long as you have experience growing organic installs and improving conversion for all traffic sources — not just doing ASO or improving keyword ranks without real impact. We don’t set goals or measure success by keyword ranks.  
  • You have experience with working with App Store Connect and Google Play Developer console is a must. Along with App Store Optimisation tools like Data.ai, SplitMetrics, AppTweak and so on.  
  • You posses experience working with desktop apps stores such as Microsoft Store and App Store Connect for Mac apps will be highly regarded.
  • You have a proven understanding of how app stores operate and what drives performance. And we want to see a passion for ASO! 
  • You are passionate about cultural localisation and the role it plays in the way we approach online marketing. Experience with ASO across different languages and markets is a must. 
  • You possess clear, concise and persuasive verbal and written communication. 
  • You can demonstrate holistic mobile data analysis skills. We report results based on data and insights regularly and you will be expected to share opportunities and learnings from data analysis in our key markets.
  • Bachelors degree in Marketing or Data Science will be highly regarded

About the team

We are building an ASO team unlike any other - on a mission to be the #1 ASO team globally. We’re recognised by both Apple and Google as having a world class app - including multiple Apple and Google App of the Year awards. Our ASO team has an amazing dedicated mobile creative team who are passionate about experimenting and crafting app store optimised assets. And our in-house publishing tool allows you to manage both Google and Apple stores in the one place - taking care of translations automatically.

We’re kicking goals but we’re only 1% of the way there. We have ambitious goals as a team to crack into some of the most competitive app category spaces.

We work globally and are looking to win the app design space - market by market. This role will collaborate with Canva’s International Growth Marketers located across the globe to build truly local app store experiences while supporting regional marketing strategies.

You will be well resourced with access to an ASO agency to assist in growing our tier 2 markets. SplitMetrics to assist in experimentation as well as Enterprise level Apptweak and Data.ai accounts. Canva’s Marketing Data team are available to assist with complex analysis and building custom dashboards.

At Canva we value fairness, and we strive to provide competitive, market-informed compensation whilst ensuring internal equity within the team in each region. We make hiring decisions based on your skills, experience and our overall assessment of what we observed and learnt in the hiring process. The target salary range for this position is $150,000 USD to $232,000 USD. When calculating offers, we make salary decisions based on market data and candidates' skills and experience.
