Pricing Sea Cargo

Are you experienced in Ocean freight operations with excellent interpersonal skills and want to diversify your experience in a pricing role? Perhaps you’re already working in a pricing role and eager to join a truly global business where you can succeed both in the UK and internationally. For over 40 years, we have served our clients with our Air, Ocean, Road, and Warehousing portfolio and we have enjoyed another very successful year at cargo-partner having strengthened our global position by joining the Nippon Express Group.


In our relatively short time in the UK we have enjoyed remarkable success and as we look to strengthen our pricing team across the UK & IE we are on the hunt for a Sea Cargo Pricing professional that has experience in Sea Freight operations or has held a similar pricing role. This will be a hybrid role with an expectation work from our Manchester office at Manchester Airport.

What will you do?

 

·       Quotations for cargo-partner and agency business for UK & IE SEA export and import

·       Following up the customers and the opportunities

·       Work closely with Carriers / Truckers and other vendors in procurement and costing

·       Inbound and Outbound calls with Carriers/Agents/other stakeholders as well as Customer service via email

·       Team work: Work closely with Sea Operations and with the NPM Sea on tenders and local procurement

Generate monthly evaluations and statistics

·       Join specific meetings with agents and other stakeholders

·       Search via email, phone or platforms the ideal solution for the agent

 

Negotiation and Rate Management:

 

·       Negotiate competitive rates for ocean shipments

·       Develop and update tariffs to reflect market conditions

·       Monitor and control tender processes

·       Resolve rate disputes with suppliers

 

Supplier Relationship Management:

 

·       Prospect and manage suppliers based on requested routes

 

Data Management:

 

·       Maintain the ocean freight rate database

·       Ensure accuracy of rate uploads and carrier master data

·       Generate reports on ocean product statistics

·       Analyze trade flows and procurement data


Strategic Analysis:

 

·       Develop strategies to maximize quotation closure rates

·       Execute improvement initiatives for rate management processes

·       Analyze volumes and allocate loads efficiently
