NYC Parks serves as steward to over 30,000 acres of parkland, including 14 miles of beach, 1000 playgrounds, over 800 athletic fields, and marshes, wetlands, and forests. Its mission is to maintain clean, safe and accessible parks and green spaces, and to create cultural, athletic, and educational programming for New Yorkers of all ages to enjoy.
The Marketing and Development division fosters a strong and positive connection between the agency and the communities it serves through targeted marketing efforts, dynamic fundraising initiatives, innovative in-house design projects, and impactful signage in parks across the city.
The Seasonal Marketing and Development Coordinator will play an integral role working independently as well as collaboratively in assisting the team. A major responsibility of the role will be supporting Adopt-A-Bench, a program that allows members of the public to make a charitable contribution to NYC Parks and have personalized plaques installed on park benches.

Major Responsibilities
- Support the Marketing and Development unit in successfully managing the Adopt-A-Bench program as well as a broad range of unit tasks and activities.
- Work closely with the Development Coordinator responsible for the Adopt-A-Bench program; receive, field, and process Adopt-A-Bench requests.
- Work with appropriate Parks staff, external partners, and program vendors to complete Adopt-A-Bench donations.
- Produce reports and recap summaries for Adopt-A-Bench program progress.
- Attend virtual and in-person meetings on Marketing and Development programs and projects as necessary.
Duration: 35 weeks, 2 days per week.
Fees: Hired candidates will be subject to a processing fee of $85.00. Hired candidates who are not currently employed by the City will be subject to a $101.25 background check fee.

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
