Account Executive (New Business)

About the Role:

As an Account Executive, you’ll drive new business growth within your territory by building and nurturing strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels across various accounts. You’ll play a pivotal role in expanding our customer base and delivering successful sales outcomes through effective pipeline generation, sales forecasting, and strategic execution.


What will you do:

- Pipeline Generation: Identify and generate new business opportunities by engaging with multiple personas within prospect and customer accounts. Use a variety of strategies and tools to move leads through the sales cycle.

- Solution Selling: Present and tailor the value of our platform to meet the specific needs of each prospect, demonstrating how our solution can solve their challenges.

- Negotiation and Closing: Lead negotiations by addressing stakeholder concerns and organizational complexities, overcoming objections, and securing new business agreements.

- Collaboration: Partner with internal teams (marketing, product, customer success) to ensure a seamless and exceptional client experience, driving long-term satisfaction.

- Sales Process: Manage the sales process through pipeline generation, champion building, and methodologies like MEDDIC and Command of the Message. Keep Salesforce updated with accurate account and opportunity data.

- Sales Forecasting: Develop and maintain accurate forecasts to inform decision-making, ensuring predictable revenue and meeting revenue targets.

- Post-Sales: Maintain relationships post-sale to enhance client satisfaction, ensuring a positive and lasting experience.


What are we looking for?

An Account Executive who is passionate about CleverTap’s mission and eager to drive new business success. Must have:

- 5+ years of successful experience as an Account Executive in a SaaS, startup, or tech-driven environment.

- Proven ability to generate pipeline and manage complex sales cycles to build a client portfolio.

- Strong understanding of APIs, Webhooks, SDKs, Cloud, and SaaS technologies.

- Experience engaging with diverse personas (technical, business, executive) and influencing decision-making across all levels.

- Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

- Self-motivated with a strong drive to exceed goals.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with excellent time management and organizational skills.

- Knowledge of the MarTech industry.

- Bachelor’s degree (business major preferred).


Good to have:

- Familiarity with MEDDIC and Command of the Message sales methodologies (a plus but not required).

- Strong analytical and data-driven approach to account management, targets, and regional planning.

- Knowledge of CRM software, particularly Salesforce (a plus). 

- Experience using sales software (ie: Outreach, Sales Navigator, Apollo etc.)


Measures of Success:

- Revenue Achievement (Booking, ARR)

- Revenue retention (NRR)

- Sustainable revenue growth (CAC: LTV)


Key Competencies:

- Functional: Mobile marketing expertise, MarTech understanding, Result oriented

- Behavioural: Problem Solving, Consultative selling, Communication and presentation skills, Negotiation Skills

Please Note: You would be required to work from our Office in San Francisco hence we are preferably looking for someone who is already based there.

Salary Range: For candidates based in San Francisco, the pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between Base $100,000 - $120,000/year with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $200,000 and $220,000/year (Total including commissions). Your exact offer may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
