Purpose Of Role:
We are pleased to advertise this exciting position to lead the future of our Information Technology systems and service partners. In recent years we have taken control of our core operating systems which are specific to our business, and we are now looking for a future leader to bring IT from a support function in the business to a prominent solutions provider known for robust support and innovative proactivity. We are at the forefront of our industry and hope to bring Microsoft with us on that journey while making sure every colleague can live that experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage our existing Infrastructure as a Service provider (Azure Cloud) to ensure high service uptime, usability of the system and strong security is in place and routinely scanned.
- Assist in the planning, design, delivery and operation of our IT hardware, software, network and telephony services.
- Welcome new joiners on their onboarding day and set them up ready to work ensuring everything is in place for their success
- Keep in tune with the evolving business and offer solutions that assist the day-to-day work experience
- Continual conditioning of the business to achieve and maintain key ICT best practice standards
- Maintain a robust security posture.
- Manage estate monitoring, alerting and reporting to cyber and security alerts (delivered by IaaS) and act accordingly
- Manage the ICT calendar to ensure the timely maintenance of key certificates such as Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO27001 maintenance and Policy updates.
- Maintain documentation and test verification certificates to equivalent standard e.g. ISO27001, 9001 as applicable.
- Support Help desk and on prem desktop as required by being available and with clear lines of support established with IaaS service desk
- Support our entire community to move quickly by providing a clear, secure and supported path forward
- Maintain commercials and constantly look for efficiencies in our cloud environments and partners
- Maintain our cloud and hardware assets (quality, cost, performance, security, operational service, user experience)
- Be ready to chair the creation of new solutions and services, helping us to exhaust the capability of Microsoft solutions and other providers within our business, including home-made solutions.
- Build and maintain a comprehensive ISMS service for the business helping to transfer knowledge and best practice across different functions.

This role will proactively consult across different teams and help to fulfil their needs with robust ICT based solutions (e.g. new flows for task automation). We have already delivered some fantastic services internally that offer increased productivity to internal teams, you will get to know those through the interview process, we want to work with you to stand up even more modern solutions. You will also be actively involved in designing a strategy to increase our ICT average skills in the company.
Working directly with our CTO you will be able to plot a strategy toward a direct Microsoft partnership in future and be eager to assist with ICT backed events like Hackathons.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrate skill and high competence in Microsoft Azure
- Minimum 4 years’ experience leading IT for a similar size organisation or being a key part of an IT team
- Preferably, experienced in operating at an ISO27001 compliant standard and achieved or maintained this accreditation.
- Comfortable clarifying user stories and designing solutions
- Considerate to the future of work automation
- Highly skilled in realising efficiencies and building task automation flows using Microsoft
- Familiar with Microsoft Dynamics, Power Flow automate, MS Defender, MS Purview
- Communication. As the face of IT, managing issues, offering solutions and being an advocate to lift the company ICT literacy, strong and open communication is key.
