Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Communications and Marketing Assistant provides administrative support with communications and marketing initiatives. Under the direction of the Communications and Marketing Manager the incumbent will beneficially promote CSWE’s brand, product, and services. 

 

The Communications and Marketing Assistant will support the distribution of engaging content, maintain digital platforms and communicate effectively with stakeholders. They will handle various administrative, communications, and marketing tasks and projects while supporting the implementation of communications strategies and plans. 

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:                

  • Responsible for managing the communications calendar and inbox to ensure that communications requests are handled accurately and timely.
  • Works with internal and external stakeholders to ensure comprehensive accuracy for assigned projects.
  • Monitors progress and outcomes of ongoing campaigns and communications projects, using editorial calendars and related project management systems and platform tools (e.g., Trello, Asana, Hootsuite, etc.) to ensure all communications projects stay on schedule.
  • Support the execution of marketing campaigns by preparing assets, drafting and editing copy, scheduling posts, and tracking key metrics for campaign performance.
  • Support website update and content management.
  • Maintain brand consistency across all CSWE marketing materials.
  • Acts as the primary administrator for CSWE’s online community, Spark, and email marketing platform.
  • Create social media content that drives engagement to CSWE’s website and elevates the brand to increase national and international recognition create and schedule content on social media apps, interact with membership and public engagement (likes, comments, shares, etc.) online and offline, and assist with tracking analytics of engagement to innovate membership and professional connections for larger brand exposure.
  • Evaluates the success of campaigns and prepares campaign recaps for leadership using metrics/KPIs available from each platform to (e.g. website, social media platforms, email, etc.)
  • Protects and nurtures CSWE’s brand, including visual components and brand voice; helps ensure compliance with brand guidelines.
  • Provide administrative support for communications-related projects, including organizing meetings, preparing presentations, and coordinating team efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL:

  • Bachelor’s degree In Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field is preferred; Bachelor’s degree is required.
  •  One to Three (1-3) years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field is required.
  • Proficient with editorial calendars and/or project management tools is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required; proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
  • Experience using copy layout tools (e.g. InDesign, Illustrator, Canva) is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and written communications are required.
  • Experience with Web content management systems and social media management systems is preferred.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.
  • Ability to travel 1-2 times per year.

The office is located in Alexandria, Virginia.

COMPENSATION
• The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience ($55,000-$60,000 annually).
• CSWE offers a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, PTO, 403b retirement contributions, and more.

ADA SPECIFICATIONS
This position is primarily sedentary and is performed in an office setting. The physical demands of this position are limited to the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and bend, stoop, and carry materials.
