We are on the lookout for a Specialist, Payment Acceptance - (Global Payments Product) to join the Fintech team on our journey to always deliver amazing experiences.
Be part of building the product backbone of Delivery Hero. You’ll contribute to the performance improvement of global and local payment methods, and improve payment costs for thousands and thousands of restaurants. You’ll have an opportunity to contribute to product feature development.
As a Specialist, Payments Acceptance, you will be responsible for optimizing and improving the overall user payments experience across various markets for all our offerings (food delivery, quick commerce, subscription etc.), with a strong focus on ensuring seamless acceptance and success across all payment methods, including emerging payment channels. You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive performance improvements, ensure effective issue resolution, and maintain alignment with regional strategies.
What you will do in this role:
Optimize Payment Performance: Identify and drive improvements in key metrics like Authorization Rate, Success Rate, and Conversion Rate across all channels, including subscriptions.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a central point of coordination between regional teams, central teams, and external partners to align on strategy and ensure successful delivery.
Operational Oversight: Support regional payment operations by promoting best practices and consistent execution, without direct ownership of execution tasks.
Integrations & Rollouts: Support new payment method launches and system enhancements, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Issue Management: Proactively monitor and resolve payment issues to minimize disruptions and maintain high system performance.
Data & Strategy: Use data insights and market benchmarking to make informed decisions, prioritize impactful initiatives, and ensure competitive, customer-focused payment experiences.
Technical Understanding: Basic understanding of what is authorisation, capture, refund, acquirer, issuer, 3DS etc; familiarity with typical bank declines like failed 3DS, do not honor etc and ideas to improve them.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Strong ability to work across regions and teams, collaborating with technical, product, and business teams to contribute to delivering high-impact initiatives.
Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent ability to analyze and resolve various payment issues, requiring collaboration with external partners and internal stakeholders.
Strong communication skills with a proven track record of managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Nice to have:
Experience with payment performance optimization and working with different payment methods or channels at a PSP or an eCommerce merchant with several countries coverage.
Ability to manage multiple projects and balance between strategic oversight and operational problem-solving.
Market Awareness: Understanding of global and regional payment trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices, especially in high-growth markets.
Basic understanding of underwriting /KYB process to facilitate this workstream together with Legal and Compliance.
