IT Support Specialist (Part-Time, 6-Month Contract)

This is a part-time, 6-month fixed-term contract role.

JOB PURPOSE

As an IT Support Specialist, you will assist with fundamental IT tasks, including tasks such as hardware on/offboarding, basic troubleshooting of hardware/software/networking issues, user access management, and supporting day-to-day IT operations. This role is ideal for a working student or junior IT specialist, providing hands-on experience with a supportive team. You will work closely with the Global IT team, with direct guidance to help ensure smooth internal IT support

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Hardware On/Offboarding:
  • Prepare and configure laptops and peripherals for new hires.
  • Assist with MDM enrollment for new devices and guide employees through setup.
  • Collect and manage hardware from departing employees.
  • Record hardware on/offboarding in the IT asset management portal and ensure proper disposal of out-of-service IT assets.
• Technical Support:
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and networking issues for employees.
  • Assist with user access management for systems like Gmail, Dropbox, and O365.
  • Provide ongoing support to ensure day-to-day IT operations run smoothly.
• Collaboration & Communication:
  • Communicate and manage user issues through the Service Desk, the primary channel for user support.
  • Participate in internal IT Slack channels and meetings to stay informed and connected.
  • Help reduce the reliance on external services (e.g., DigitalFire) by handling issues internally.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Familiarity with macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android.
• Basic understanding of Gmail, Dropbox, and O365.
• Solid grasp of computer hardware and software principles.
• Availability to work 8-16 hours per week.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
