Lead Frontend Shopify Developer (m/f/div)

Our team in Germany combines technology and experience design to create emotive yet conversion-focused ideas, products and campaigns at scale and speed. Our specialty are digital experiences and communication that change perceptions and shape new behaviours to make a difference in the market.

JOB PURPOSE

As a Lead Frontend Shopify Developer, you will work on the development and maintenance of a number of our Shopify and Shopify Plus e-commerce websites most of which are based on a headless approach. If you have built Shopify/Shopify Plus applications and have an understanding of how the overall architecture fits together with things like digital marketing tools, site management, etc. then this might be a good opportunity for you.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build e-commerce sites in Shopify and Shopify Plus;
  • Contribute to the development of open source software, HTML5/CSS/JavaScript, and common web technologies integral to building seamless multi-channel experiences;
  • Working on mobile, tablet and desktop solutions;
  • Perform regular website testing to ensure functionality, including logging issues, detailing bugs, and making recommendations to PMs of any improvements that can be made;
  • Manage daily website updates, edits, changes, or asset uploads within our content management system;
  • Work with PMs to support new business sales and pitches;
  • Knowledgeable in security / personal data protection principles and GPDR;
  • Developing testing plans and troubleshooting issues related to eCommerce issues;
  • Helping with website conversion and analytics;
  • Monitoring and managing website uptime and performance;
  • Designing and testing pages on different browsers/devices/clients;
  • Implement advanced debugging techniques and usage of browser developer tools.

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Professional working proficiency in German and English language;
  • 5+ years of experience with TypeScript/React.js/Vue.js and ideally you will have good knowledge of Next.js;
  • 3+ years experience in Shopify Development, ideally with experience using Shopify Plus;
  • General experience building, launching and maintaining stores, as well as general knowledge of the admin system;
  • Strong understanding of Shopify 2.0 and working with a made theme and/or Storefront API;
  • Experience with Liquid templating;
  • Experience with implementing/debugging 3rd party Shopify apps as well as creating custom solutions if necessary;
  • Experience with Shopify's object/properties, AJAX API, and Meta fields;
  • Thorough testing and debugging skills with browser console and external tools;
  • Experience developing for responsive layouts for a desktop, tablet, and mobile;
  • Experience working with 3rd party services and APIs, specific plugins for Shopify.
  • Directly available to start working in one of the countries: Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Denmark, Spain, United Kingdom, Ireland;
  • Professional working proficiency in German and English language.
