The Detroit Lions are looking to add a season long associate to their Entertainment team! The Entertainment Associate position is responsible for the support of the Detroit Lions live entertainment programming as well as carrying out daily tasks of game days, events, rehearsals. This position will play a large part in the overall success in supporting the entertainment teams and elements including, but not limited to, the following groups:

  • Detroit Lions Cheerleaders Program
  • Junior Detroit Lions Cheerleader Program
  • Detroit Lions Drumline – Honolulu Boom
  • Flag Crew
  • National Anthem Talent
  • Halftime Shows Concepts and Productions

This position may require work out of Ford Field, the Meijer Performance Center, and offsite rehearsal locations. Candidates must provide their own housing and transportation to and from Ford Field and designated offsite locations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (including, but not limited to):

The Entertainment Associate position will have daily responsibilities including, without limitation, the following:

  • Administrative support to plan appearances, events, rehearsals, games for Detroit Lions Cheerleaders AND all other Detroit Lions Entertainment groups/individuals – Drumline, Flag Crew, national anthem talent, halftime shows, cheer clinics, cheer auditions, cheer master classes.
  • Responsible for planning, executing, managing of Junior Detroit Lions Cheerleaders clinic(s) and halftime show
  • Assist with rehearsal support with learning and videotaping choreography, music support, logistics
  • Assist with game day planning, including, but not limited, managing game day itineraries for all entertainment teams, preparation of entertainment related game script elements, on field assistance and stage managing of entertainment teams
  • Assist with cheerleaders & entertainers for booking appearances/events, researching clients, and providing team with supplies and equipment for events
  • Manage team costume inventory and equipment
  • Process invoices and track expenses across entertainment teams
  • Assist with organizing logistics for photo/video shoots
  • Provide additional administrative support as requested

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Participate in team meetings, generate meeting notes and provide communication updates
  • Maintain an appropriate level of knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and of web tools and software
  • Must be highly proactive, motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Maintain professionalism when communicating with internal and external contacts
  • Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully and develop solutions quickly and effectively
  • Develop & maintain effective working relationship with clients, guests and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner
  • Ability to assess strengths, weaknesses, set goals, achieve objectives and strive to continuously build knowledge and skills of the sales profession and the market
  • Must have strong oral and written communications skills.  This includes the ability to listen, speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, possess excellent presentation skills
  • Meets challenges with resourcefulness and creativity
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays                                                          
  • Will keep appropriate information confidential
  • Will accept other responsibilities and duties required by the supervisor consistent with the objectives and essential functions of this position

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Sports Management/Administration, Marketing or Dance related degree
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Must possess interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with staff, management, clients, and vendors at all levels
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively adjust to rapidly changing market and business conditions
  • Team oriented attitude and approach, relationship building skills, and ability to maintain a professional demeanor and appearance
  • Strong skills in time management, administrative, organization, and customer service skills
  • Valid Driver’s License and a good driving record
  • Proficient computer skills including experience with MS Office products, including but not limited to Excel, Word, Outlook, CRM and the ability to learn new programs
  • Working knowledge of dance and cheer programming in entertainment venues preferred
  • Will adjust schedule as needed to meet work goals and time constraints, including working nights, weekends, and holidays as football schedule directs
