We are looking for an enthusiastic Float Program Coordinator for our community integration and training day program in Long Beach, CA. This exciting role is designed to support all three programs in the area, with a focus on creating engaging activities, training staff, and leading special projects that enhance our programs. Job Description

As a Program Coordinator (PC), you’ll be a key member of our team, responsible for coordinating essential services that support our clients.  Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the Program Director in maintaining consistent, high-quality programming
  • Assuming the responsibilities and duties of the Direct Support Professional (DSP) during direct care shifts when necessary
  • Planning and scheduling engaging program services, recreation, and activities
  • Providing personalized care and support to individuals
  • Coaching and supporting our dedicated staff
  • Communicating effectively with staff and interdisciplinary team members
  • Assisting with finances
  • Overseeing educational and vocational programs
  • Writing clear and concise progress reports, ISP reports, and other necessary documentation. 
  • Overseeing facility management to ensure a safe and supportive environment.

Qualifications

What You’ll Do:

As a Float Program Coordinator (PC), you will be a key member of our team responsible for enhancing program quality and supporting all our day programs located at Long Beach, Signal Hill, and Norwalk.   This role will focus on meaningful program activities, staff training, and special projects. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting Program Directors ensuring engaging, high-quality programming across multiple sites.
  • Planning and developing engaging and meaningful program services, recreation, and activities for individuals served.
  • Developing and managing special projects that improve program offerings and operations.
  • Training and guiding Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to implement program activities with confidence and care.
  • Managing and contributing to special projects to improve program offerings and operations.
  • Filling in temporarily for other Program Coordinators as needed.
  • Providing personalized care and support to individuals when required.
  • Building positive relationships and offering hands-on support when needed.
  • Coaching and mentoring staff to enhance service quality.
  • Communicating effectively with interdisciplinary teams and staff.
  • Writing clear and accurate progress reports, Individualized Service Plan (ISP) documentation, and other required reports.
  • Ensuring program environments remain safe, supportive, and engaging.

What Makes You a Great Fit:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred) OR equivalent training/experience working with adults with disabilities.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a related field, preferably in a day program or vocational setting.
  • Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, such as intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, autism, and epilepsy.
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Creative problem-solver with a passion for planning engaging activities.
  • Adaptable, organized, and skilled at managing time effectively.
  • Ability to lead and coach others effectively.
  • Tech-savvy and proficient in using digital tools to support program documentation and communication.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
