Job Summary:
The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the data infrastructure and pipelines necessary to support the company's data needs. This role involves working with large datasets, optimizing data flow, and enabling data accessibility for analytics and business intelligence purposes. The Data Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring that data is reliable, secure, and available for driving informed decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to support data integration and processing needs.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data systems.
- Develop and implement ETL processes to ingest data from various sources.
- Optimize data storage and retrieval for performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to provide data for analytics and reporting.
- Implement and maintain data governance policies and best practices.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
- Support data-driven initiatives by providing timely and accurate data access.
- Develop and maintain documentation for data processes and systems.
- Stay up to date with emerging data technologies and industry best practices.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and internal policies.
- Provide training and support to stakeholders on data systems and best practices.
- Lead efforts to continuously improve data infrastructure and processes.
- Collaborate with IT and business units to align data initiatives with organizational goals.

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience of at least 5+ years in data engineering, with a focus on building and maintaining data pipelines in a CoE or Specialist role.
- You must have skill set on Azure environment, Microsoft Fabric or Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks or Azure Synapse Analytics and strong experience on SQL.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing ETL processes.
- Strong background in data architecture and big data technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of data governance and data quality management principles.
- Excellent written and verbal Arabic and English language proficiency.
- Skills:
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and maintaining data pipelines and infrastructure.
- Strong technical knowledge of ETL processes and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, AWS, Azure).
- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, SQL) for data processing.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing data challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Adept at managing multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in data governance and data quality management principles.
- Strong understanding of data protection regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues.
- Ability to provide training and support on data systems and best practices.
